the ideal formation is 4-3-3

This is also my proposed formation though Robben still deserves to play atm.

I wouldn't bet against Guardiola reintroducing 4-1-4-1 next season, with a different selection of players. Bayern lost most of their recent games playing 4-2-3-1.

Bayern lost most of that games without Javi Martinez in that double pivot.

4-2-3-1 with Schweini and Kroos pairing together is a hybrid between Jupp and Pep midfield and it didn't work well.

BTW it's amazing how people like to put Robben out of the team even if he is one of our best (if not the best) performers of the season. :)

To clarify, that is my proposed long-term formation, which I explained in a lot of detail in this detail some weeks ago. At the moment Robben should still be playing (probably instead of Muller), not only because of his form but also because of his individual magic. The formation ramsej posted is one which I think would be near-perfect once we perfect our tactics. That will take time, so for now we need players like Robben who can win games on their own when we're not performing well.

As long as Javi plays in midfield again and Schweini stays fit. Hopefully he and Schweini will be winning the ball so much that Schweini will basically be playing more forward anyway.

@Element, mmm, i know the formation is weak defensively but c'mon,.we will win games by outscoring the other team:p, would like to see it esp e.g when we wrap the league earlier.

Robben and Alaba would have to be dropped. Lahm plays as winger and Boateng, Dante, and Badstuber/new CB play in defence.

Yeah, this aint the Jurgen Klinnsman show -- we can't be doing the 3 in defense thing with 2 holding mid-fielders -- not the way teams play counter and use the wings. Our current squad is set with our defense the way it is now.

Anyway, with healthy players and with the right people playing then a 4-3-3 would be fine. We could have a couple of different formations based on who we play, but it'll be interesting on who Pep brings in and how he works the system.

No team has Ever Won anything with a Bad Defense

Teams Dominate By having Both Great Offense and Defense (Bayern 2012-2013)
Teams win things by Having A Great defense without offense (Chelsea 2011-2012)

this is why they say " Offense sells tickets , Defense Wins Championships"
