NEW DELHI: Thomas Mueller, the winner of the 'Golden Boot' at the 2010 World Cup, is thrilled to be part of the Bayern Munich star squad to play against the Indian national team at the Audi Football Summit in New Delhi on January 10, 2012.

Mueller is "happy that more and more kids are playing the game in India". "I am happy to come back after the visit to Kolkata and Siliguri in January 2009," he said.

Mueller's German teammate, striker Mario Gomez, spoke for the entire team. "The trip to India will be a big experience for us, as most of us have not been to India," he said.

German great Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, who was twice honoured as 'European Footballer of the Year', said the club was happy to send their full first team.

"I have heard about the great experiences from our players and coaches when they travelled for Oliver Kahn's farewell match. We are now delighted to bring the full first team to India. Many of us are excited about the country, the city of Delhi, the people and their enthusiasm for football," said Rummenigge, who is currently the CEO of Bayern Munich.

Still, it's fun to see these friendlies because of the winter break. No one likes spending a long time not watching Bayern play

I think the poll should be on the margin of victory, not the victory itself...

Good article by goal.com regarding FC Bayern playing in the previous 5 times in India, including the proposed Bayern Munich football academy that never materialised.

due to lack of interest, neither government nor corporates take big initiative in football and all the investment and coverage are snatched by cricket [-X [-X
