The rumour is that Bayern will play a friendly next summer in Portland (too bad it is in the West Coast which for me it is like going to Europe, just a little cheaper) against an all-stars MLS team. Initially they were considering late July but since all bayern stars will be missing to vacation after the World Cup they are looking at mid August, basically only days before the Bundesliga kicks off which means a full Bayern squad.

Bayern may extend U.S. preseason tour [source]

Spoiler: show
Bayern Munich could extend next year's preseason tour of the United States to three games in one week, according to CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

In late November, Munich-based paper Abendzeitung revealed Bayern’s plans to take on the MLS All-Stars in Portland in the summer of 2014, "as a part of their attack on the U.S. market.”

Although no date for the fixture has been set yet, the European champions plan to field their strongest side in the preseason friendly.

And speaking to Abendzeitung, Rummenigge talked about plans to extend the trip to more than just one game.

“We are discussing to go to the U.S. for a week and add one or two games,” Rummenigge said. “The DFL [German Football League] takes great interest that we head over to the States.”

With the 2014 World Cup final to be played on July 13, the new Bundesliga season due to kick off on Aug. 22, and the German Super Cup to be staged on Aug. 9, as well as the first round of the DFB-Pokal to be played between the latter two dates, it appears likely that the game against the MLS All-Stars will be played in early August.

Bayern last visited the U.S. in 2004, when they came up against Manchester United in Chicago as part of the Champions World Series.

Personally I think they chose the worst present season to go on a US tour due to the world cup. Players participating in the world cup will probably return in the first week of August and that's half the squad. :P

Does anyone know when Bayern is going to play in New York for a friendly and where I can get tickets? I heard they were coming here and I believe are going to play Chivas, but I don't know when it is or how to find tickets.
