OUr team couldn't win it in normal time, this is like rolling the dice.

3rd sounds crappy on Bayern -- but we must improve on the Audi cup -- or we will lose 10-0 to barca from our defense alone.

Mainz came really close though -- PKs are mostly luck. I can't believe we let them score first and equalize. We have some serious defensive issues.

Nerlinger should be catching a flight right now to London with a 10M suitcase to go and bring Alex to Munich :D

That would be a dream, but if he doesn't do anything I am sure many will want him to catch some flight off a cliff.

Maybe if it was a Boateng-Badstuber pairing and still defended poorly. But he will find the excuse that Boateng didn't play.

Two things on todays agenda for me.

1) Usami for man of the match because he is awesome and will be awesome in the future.

2) Prophylactic hit in the balls to everyone who has called for van Gaal back.
The ideal team

Prophylactic hit in the balls for agreeing with whoever said it first, but it feels all too reminiscent of LvG when things were going wrong -- so I saw no difference between now and last season -- except some new players. I think if Heynckes wants to implement a new philosophy or update or something, then now is the time. The funny thing is as Aequitas1987 questioned -- even at the end of last season Joncker made an immediate impact -- where is Heynckes' immediate impact? -- except for having fun in training, I know Ribéry looks like a happier guy because of it. I was actually hoping Bayern win the Audi cup this season and qualify for the CL. Things that look like no difference in LvG and why it wouldn't matter if LvG was back in charge:
1. shakey defense
2. defenders passing the ball around too much, and too much passing
3. same attacking game
4. we still haven't got the best out of Ribéry since his first 2 seasons
5. Schweini still not looking like a WC midfielder

I know, I know -- Heynckes just got here and the project is under way, and he will be given his time -- but LvG was given his time too -- and the only man to really make an impact was Joncker who is coaching our bayern II team. Anyway, no big deal -- we'll see if this project makes an impact in 2 weeks when August comes around -- if not, then who knows. I sure hope to see the team get alot more serious in training though and use this Liga Crap! Cup as a basis for improvement.

you're probably right but the thing is that this would be our defense in case Boateng got injured, suspended, etc. One has to take the what-if scenario when considering the squad as a whole... well what if JB got injured ? the answer in that case would be: we're screwed !!
