[2011-07-27] Bayern Munich vs FC Barcelona

Postby AvatarX » Wed Jul 27, 2011 7:33 am

The final of Audi Cup between Bayern and Barcelona.

We have a very bad history in friendlies against them - so I hope we'll change that.
Barcelona without Pique and Puyol has some weaknesses we can exploit, but our defense with "Van Bad" has even more weaknesses.

Personally I don't know if I should hope for a win (probably I will), or an embarrassing defeat so we will buy a top CB. After all it's better to be defeated in a friendly than in a critical CL game.

Robbery will be out of the game, both injured (deva-vu anyone?).

Game will be broadcast live on ZDF (free on air satellite) at 20:30 CET.

Robbery out will mean that either of Usaba will play, which is great.

If the defense is as awful today as it was yesterday, the board will have to splash the cash. But yeah, don't know what to root for really.

Usaba? Can we just stop with this moronic name mash-ups? Robbery is fine, because it actually make sense but Van Bad and Usaba are just not clever, funny or any good.

I'm guessing either Alaba or Usami will play, but if I was the coach, I would play 4-3-2-1 today.

Gustavo-Schweini-Tymo
------Muller-----Kroos----

Of course, that's assuming we play against the best available Barca squad. There is no need to keep a winger formation with Robbery injured.

This is going to be a tough match. Barcelona is the current champion and to be honest they are playing almost spotless and perfect football at the moment. But I strongly believe that Bayern has the ability to defeat this Barcelona.
If we can play our natural game and if our players can give their best then we'll win. Lets hope for the best and pray for our team.

Tonight match will show where we stand in European football.
I'd really like to see Usami play, I'm really curious about this guy.

Tonight: The final of the Audi Cup FC Bayern vs. FC Barcelona.
Currently we're allowing Iniesta, Valdes & Co to practice on our training ground. By 20:45 however, we will be less generous!

I wish both clubs would play with their A-teams, just to get a taste of how we would match up against them, as we haven't faced them since they made some tactical modifications (Messi playing a free-role, Xavi and Iniesta rotating positions more frequently). But that's not going to happen. It'd surely give the team a good feeling and some much-needed confidence ahead of the start of the season to beat Barcelona and win this Cup. Boateng and Usami are the players I'm looking forward to see tonight.

hahahaha, I actually like "BadBuyten" better than "Van Bad," I will use it whenever it's appropriate, but Usaba, I must admit, is just lame. :P

Curious to see how Heynckes handles his tactics and substitutions in this game -- if he tries to hold out for a penalty shootout, which could favour us as those things are always a crap shoot even for Barca.
