My problem is not with his injuries (which I obviously don't like). However, he doesn't look like he's improving: on the contrary, he seems getting worse and worse with each match that he plays. I know he's being played all over the pitch, but I don't think I'm the only one who feels disappointed with Martinez's performances this season. Something is definitely off and troubling, and I repeat that at this point in time Vidal looks the better deal. If Martinez regains last season's form, then I am open for rediscussing this.

I never said he is a one-season wonder, only that I'm fearing that it may be so.

Achilles wrote:Personally I see Yaya Toure as the best central midfielder and then Vidal but the differences are small.

Yes I love Toure and he is better than Vidal for me, but then he doesn't play in the same role: Toure is more defensive and doesn't score much. Vidal is more offensive, scores a lot but can still tackle and defend when needed. You said it perfectly when you said "Vidal is the best box-to-box out there right now".

What? Yaya has 14 goals this year already. 11 in the BPL.

Yaya has amazing free-kicks. He's so damn big, but so good with ball.

I have a nagging feeling that not all is well with Martinez. Could it be he's still suffering the effects of his injury? How else would he be played in that friendly and Pep himself said that he played injured?

Martinez doesn't simply fit into Pep's midfield. He's a ball-winner first and foremost - and look how many ball-winners featured in his Barca side. Biscuits comes closest, and he wins possession with his superb positioning, but not his tackling. Martinez has a more aggressive style, that Pep simply doesn't need. That is, however, no reflection on the caliber of player that Martinez is - without a doubt one of the best midfielders in the world!

milan were eliminated from the Coppa Italia before their own fans who jeered them along the last 15 mins.
I saw the game, they were very very slow in their build-up, lacked ideas and physically were light years behind Udinese. Udinese play fast flowing ftball - I really admire this team and their humble coach Guidolin.
Seedorf has a lot to do unless he wants to be shown the exit door come next May... He has no experience at all - may they can carry on with this form vs Atletico.

Seedorf seems to be heading to his second consecutive loss. Cagliari 1-0 Milan.

Was it at least a deserved win? I went out happy knowing that Milan were losing (it was the 84th min). Then I learned about their win some time later on my car radio
