Just a bit on the history between Rangers and Bayern. We have quite an intertwined history, especially during the 60's and 70's and it was after seeing Rangers play Bayern in 1999 that I knew Bayern were something special (I was 14 at the time and had already seen Borussia Dortmund at Ibrox, but Bayern were something special).

I saw rangers at home to bayern in the cl . i can't remember what year but valenica were also in the group and Kahn injured Mols very badly.

It was 1999. Rangers only needed a draw to go through. We got beat by a dubious penalty! I was at the home leg!

Celtic must be thinking: "ok we beat them for good for the next few years at least... Now what?"

So I haven't been following this case very closely. Are Rangers letting go of most of their players?

Not at the moment.

Some players have left by claiming that they don't have to transfer their contracts to the new business entity. However Rangers are disputing that, and the football bodies are currently agree and have not released their registrations to their new clubs.

But we still have our other players including many internationalists, who may want to leave, but a team would have to buy them out of their contracts.

We still have a large amount of sponsorship monies coming in, so we can still afford just to keep our remaining players, but if we are to remain in the 3rd Division (the 4th league in Scotland), then I'd imagine players would have to go to lower our wage bill.

For the good of football, hopefully most of the players will be loyal. If they do Rangers will be back in the top league in no time. If they don't that pretty much spells the end for Scottish football.

I can understand why players would leave. All of our pre-season games (including a tour of Germany) have been cancelled as we didn't have a league registration, hence no insurance.

Scottish football has been dying a slow painful death for years, and maybe this can be the catalyst for meaningful change.

Like everyone else I am completely against these rich billionaires taking over clubs and spending freely, but perhaps that is exactly what is needed with a couple other Scottish clubs to revive Scottish football.

That happened with Hearts when Vladimir Romanov came in. There was some immediate success when they qualified for the Champions League qualifiers, but then he imploded, pulled his funding leaving Hearts also very close to going out of business.

Are Rangers hoping to make a good cup run then? As in... win the thing?

In the quarter final of it now after a 3-0 win.

I still think even though in the 3rd division, the squad is still good enough to win all the domestic cup competitions.

Gorgeous goal by our very own Henrik Ojamaa playing for Motherwell in the SPL. The defending is not quite vintage Italy, but a hella goal nonetheless.
