But you they dont have the pulling power of a top tier club in my opinion even Arsenal at this sorry state is still a better destination than Tottenham....

It's a pretty ridiculous article, in all fairness.

Read the article now, while it might contain some truth to it, most of it makes no sense. The reason why Rooney was dropped during that quarter final game against RM was because of his poor performances, and SAF didn't tarnish anything, he left with a really young squad who can turn into stars in the future. I'll admit Moyes wasn't anywhere near my choices of managers but you have to stick by the man who was chosen by one of, if not the greatest manager to ever manage the game. If Rooney decides to leave I'd actually be happy, not one person is bigger then the club and Rooney acts like he is, it's aggravating remembering that two years ago he questioned the clubs ambition to sign top players and asked to leave, while this year he want's to leave because he's being displaced because of his deteriorating ability and his poor performances.

I saw this comment on facebook a few days ago: "Doncaster Rovers have made more big name signings than Manchester United in 2013."

Only problem is: how do you sign someone on a non-contract? He's either signed up, or not on contract, no?

I think your taking the term " mid table club" to literally, i always saw it as a term used to describe a club that will never reach the true heights of European success and will always be seen as a stepping stone club. They may qualify for European football but they would be no better than spectators. Bale will never reach his true potential at Tottenham because they will never have the pulling power to bring players just as talented or even more talented than Bale. So Spurs are pretty much a mid table club, more of pretenders than contenders.......
