I hate when people reference that Barca away leg, on another day things could have been a lot different....

I liked that tie. I was pretty pissed that Lewy had his face smashed in a Bundesliga game right before. But I was proud of the fight our boys showed against Barca, considering how many were out injured.

If only we had made THAT penalty against Atletico Madrid last year...

The A.Madrid tie was worse cause we were the better side, our Football Manager players know the feeling

Yeah, I also loved that game. We gave it a pretty good shot considering our injuries, and despite a slightly unflattering scoreline, I'd say we came away with our heads held high. It was two heavyweights smacking each other in the face, and well, our concentration went first. Still, it's what football is all about.

I'd only ever blame Guardiola for one result - the 4-0 against Real Madrid - and even then there were mitigating factors, that is, I blame the fact that he wasn't sure of himself enough.

Chelsea, Conte nel mirino di un Abramovich furioso [source]

This is incredible if true... Roman Abramovich is furious about the fact that after only five matchdays his toy is already five points behind Al Mansour's toy.
Conte is risking a sack...

Next games are Leicester (League Cup) & Arsenal (Premier League)

What infuriated the most is the fact that the subs came too late into the match (5 mins before the 90th - here he is right)

And what about losing 1-0 to Atlético while keeping Müller on the bench?

Pep has superior squad in PL and credit to him, he gets the best out of his squad with his high pressing. whereas Pep's problem was always strong teams. We always played with high line along with nonexisting midfield, we were always exposed and vulnerable in defence.

The problem was always conceding, giving away chances easily with Pep. We all know how hard scoring 3 goals vs A.Madrid. For instance, They attacked 3 times and created 3 chances in second leg.1 goal, 1 penalty, 1 clear chance for Torres. Nobody can win CL without solid defence, with Pep, we never had.

Barcelona games are alot different, since they didn't make things harder for us, clearly they didn't want us to sack Pep.

We could have won at least 1 CL with a different coach in the last 3 years.

If you go in Mueller's thread in the pages from the period of Pep's first year here, you'll see that there was some panicking... it was not only Atletico, he was benched often in the CL in the most important games under Pep... simply said Pep should have never managed Bayern.

Klopp non-committal over No 1 shirt as Karius prepares for debut

...

Klopp on German keepers

Nevertheless, Klopp does rate German goalkeepers and there will undoubtedly be pressure on Mignolet.

“He was a really strong Bundesliga goalkeeper. Germany is a goalkeeper country so we have no issues with goalkeepers,” he said.

“I would say at the moment, the best goalkeeper (Manuel Neuer) in the world plays at Bayern Munich.

“We’ve not always had the best in the world but we’ve always had good ones and it’s a kind of mentality.

“He had an advantage in pre-season but he couldn’t use it because of the injury and Simon came back (from extended leave after Euro 2016) exactly in this moment and did a brilliant job.”
