It was certainly an interesting friendly. I know what Pep was trying to do (pass it out from the back) but good God did it not work out. There's a difference when you have Neuer + Boateng + Alaba because it looks fluid and beautiful and starts attacks. However, when you have Cabellero + Kolarov + Fernando, it was a trainwreck. My heart was in my mouth every time the ball came to Cabellero. I really hope we bring in John Stones immediately because he'd be perfect for what Pep wants to do.

Wenger gave him an extended break so he wont be able to play the first and maybe second match of the EPL.
Also i think that Mustafi is going to join Chelsea who are in desperate need of a cb and are probably going to pay higher wages.

Handanovic is a good keeper, he wants to leave Inter... watch City sign him.

We've been linked to every keeper under the sun. We've yet to bring one in. Worse than that, we haven't shifted any of our deadwood out yet and haven't signed any defenders!

He's terrible defensively. We wanted to get rid but he's still here.

You should, as soon as possible. That would open up space in the squad allowing Angelino to play and develop. I really think he has potential.
Fernando is awful at passing too, he can't build up from defense, and was also playing as a center back today.

He is too revolutionary to expect it to work out from the start. We were pretty clueless at first too (and it probably took a whole year for our players to really get it) but our quality was enough to carry us most of the time. I believe it eventually clicked and his tactics made much more sense - some might say they never did. I am sure you'll do better than last season in the PL though.

and in my opinion they will struggle big big time...
If they play as we did they will be torn apart by fast counter attacking teams...

I think City will struggle for a while. When Pep took over, we had a top squad that was already used to playing together AND accustomed to possession football, he won't have that benefit in England (either because the old players are not up to snuff or because the new ones are not used to play together). It's not about Pep's tactics not working in the EPL because of physicality or whatever, like some pundits bent on overrating the EPL want to make it seem, it's about City not having the team to actually implement successfully such complex tactics.

My bet for the English tittle this year is United. Liverpool with a shot too.
