They don't have to buy quality players if all they plan to do is park it in their box. Play some football Mourinho, you might as well have bought the whole Costa Rica squad if all you plan to do is use 802 formation. Waste of talents. #-o

Can had his debut with Liverpool but was taken off after 20 minutes as a precaution. He felt tightness on his calves. Rodgers said he was impressed, "He got power and pace."

Well at least it's not City or Chelsea. We can work with that I guess.

I have had a soft spot for Liverpool too. Now that they're in CL, it's gone. :P

And what's with PL shopping spree? LFC are going all out on Southampton? Mou, I can understand with his Atletico Madrid player choices, because he won't need to tell them to play dirty and the players don't expect to play ball. It's a match made in heaven. :P

But LFC should buy some better players. This Lallana deal with that price and now almost 25m for Lovren? And IMHO, Lovren might be a better deal than Lallana. I think Rodgers seems to be playing safe with buying players with experience in PL. And that could be the only reason behind such signings. After all it's his third year in PL and first in CL and probably doesn't want to go the Spurs way.
I was just wishing they'd buy a real WC player, a big name like they were trying with Sanchez but failed to complete it.

Mine is Lpool too. When I hear the hymn coming from the KOP I... get very emotional

In all honesty, I appreciate that Liverpool has probably the highest number of English players among their top teams. Lallana might have been overpriced but one has to remember they tried to buy foreign wingers last seasom and failed. Salah then that other guy from Ukraine or was it Armenia... forgot his name.

It's sad to see Southampton harvested but that happens when you're the one of the few that cares about youth development.

This will be a real test of their youth system. Previously, it was the odd player going at a time; on this occasion its the backbone of team that is going.

It's fine if they can keep the young, talented players coming through. But, it only takes a one or two season blip in the youth set-up and they will find themselves possibly relegated and it would be a struggle to get back up.

I think it's the right time for Gerrard to retire. Lampard will follow soon I bet.

Was about time. I would have been fuming if I saw them on the team-sheet in France. They have done a lot for the NT but it's about time to start integrating younger players.

He shouldn't have done so if you ask me. It'll be like when Henry returned to Arsenal.
