Penalty shootouts

Postby KrampusIsReal » Tue Jul 05, 2016 4:17 pm

I HATE them with a passion, I'm a hockey player and hate them in hockey but when playoffs or in soccer instance knock out rounds or finals that they take away from the play on the field.

Here is something I thought of.

in case of extra time, go until someone scores.
15 min halves
allowed two subs per half
allowed to sub a player back onto the field as long as they haven't received a red card
allowed one sub between halves that doesn't count against the two per half

go until someone scores!

I hate that they play for the penalties and hate penalties in general.

What would you think about that? If you don't want to play a 180 min game then press and attack instead of defending so you don't make a mistake.

It's an interesting option with the subs to say the least.

yeah I figured that would help with the players being dead and possible injuries. plus fresh legs could also help with an attack.

Inhumane and unfair. Imagine if Germany and Italy were to have played for like 200 minutes and then they would need to play against France on Thursday with muscle strain, exhaustion and probably far more injuries.

Yeah, it's ridiculous to have those 120 minutes filled with muscle cramps in the first place. Even a layman can confidently argue that 99% of footballers bodies are not built for exertions exceeding 90-120 minutes or running more 15-16 km in that time.

three halves of ten mins each...
first half: 10 v 10
2nd half 9 v 9
3rd half 8 v 8

Maybe they should play 8v8 with more subs allowed. This would make for less players playing which reduces fatigue and players can be rotated.
Bayern for life, I just want to see at least one game...thats all I ask

If I recall correctly there was an experiment once whereby instead of a penalty shootout, players had a number of seconds to run with the ball against the keeper and try to score. The keeper could come out as well.

i really like penalties because its like a punishment for both teams cuz neither of them managed to outscore the other in 120 minutes. And players cant player for over 120 minutes.Almost every match that went to extratime atleast one player gets injured.
