The article says she is taking over technical management and not playing!

LOL... I meant to write "buying" :)

I think it is safe now to retire the term "doing an element" and use "Danieling" instead :P

Great, now you show up in the Maltese thread. ;)

P.S. Meaningless friendly, but Sliema 3-1 Birkirkara :P I haven't managed to find the full lineups but it looks like Sliema had more regulars playing though.

This tournament is just on friendly basis were all 4 team use these games to test new players on trial and others who the previous season were loaned out or were more uses as subs and also to prepare for the European competitions.
BKR had only 3 regular players in the first half and another 3 in the second all others were youths or foreigners on trial.
Sliema had much more regulars.

Yeah I thought this was the case. Even with such players it is nice to see such games during the summer though. Hopefully I'll be able to make it to the next game on Friday.

Yes I heard about that yesterday. It will still be very hard for us to win though.

As for Sliema they were very solid at the back and had a decent midfield last season, but always struggled to score last season. We seem to have improved in that area with Stanley's introduction to the starting lineup and the transfer of Pape Gueye, who was on trial with Birkirkara earlier this summer and had actually scored againt Sliema. We might yet have one more big transfer coming up in that area.

Exactly. I'm sceptical that the transfer will happen myself, but it might happen after all. Apart from the player's wish to play abroad (which is not very realistic tbh) there is a second much less-known reason why it hasn't happened yet, but the scales are turning in favour of the transfer. I'm not sure whether free agents can sign contracts once the transfer market closes. If not, I think the market will close before a decision is made.

Not Maltese football as such, but this is a goal by a Maltese player (Andre Schembri) during Nea Salamina Famagusta FC vs AC Omonia Nicosia

The game between the Maltese record champions and the current Maltese champions, a.k.a my team vs MUTU's/ramsej's team. ;)
