Tonight my country defeated Lithuania 2-0 in warm up friendly ... Two superb goals... I was there with my young nephew who came to the stadium for the very first time.
Hopefully we will repeat this performance next Fri vs the Bulgarians.

In our side there were a group of English (could have been Irish IDK) & they made a nice spectacle; at one point they were singing this: Take your shoe off for the boys in (red)
never seen anything like it, maybe some Brits here can elaborate something about it...
I've found a yt vid by the irish supporters making something similar.

Your nephew is lucky :) I didn't know we were playing, I'd probably have attended because I was taking a break from studying anyway.

I read on Replay's facebook page that the group were English students. Probably they were just having some fun and picked a team to support and just joined in the fun. It's not the first time I've done it with my friends, especially for waterpolo. :P

my first game was also a win vs Hungary in the euro 2008 qualifiers ... (not counting the game vs Bayern in 2001) I obviously supported Malta.

again ... hope this time it is for real ... Sliema needs to get back to the top with us valletta and Hibs.
Last time I checked the archives and found out that Sliema came runners up twice before winning those three leagues in a row and again three times runners up after the wins,..

I have a feeling that you will sign either Del Piero or Trezeguet

Nah don't think so. Expecting smaller names. I'm hoping for Toni (who was mentioned last year) or even better Pizarro, but I highly doubt the latter would happen.

The club confirmed that the contract has been signed, but as far as I know Galbiati is still only a rumour.

That's what I wish. No rumours or anything though, just a name that came up when I was looking at stars nearing retirement. I would be so happy if that happens.

Btw I think the plan is to have half the foreigners be big names who are way past their prime and the other half young promising talents from places like Japan and so on.

Not to mention the senior team's victory vs Lithuania. We're going through an extremely rare good phase!
