Minkejja li pajjiżna ħareġ bla punti mill-Kampjonati ta' taħt is-17-il sena tal-UEFA, din kienet opportunita' unika għat-talenti lokali, b'mod partikolari Aidan Friggieri li mpressjona lil ħafna u attira l-interess ta' scouts ta' tims kbar Ewropej.

Replay jinsab infurmat li huma diversi klabbs barranin li wara l-esperjenza tiegħu f'dan il-kampjonat tal-UEFA, huma nteressati jakkwistaw lil Aidan.

Hands off unless it's Bayern.

That would be awesome to see a Maltese player in the Bayern first team one day...

Bayern scouts WERE at the tournament, so it is a remote possibility...

He caught my eye immediately... he reminded me a bit of Shaqiri :P
I also liked the GK and our nr 5. & 10 (Connor Borg plays for Chievo Verona) and 13. (Miles Beerman - plays for Man City) even Mbong showed potential.

I saw that list. Seems just about right from the games I watched. England had a couple of future world-class players for sure, and surely other countries did as well.

He will have trials with Pescara and Brescia, while being scouted by Roma and Lazio, and then he will go to Germany and England for further trials with unknown clubs. [source]

FCBayernMunchen wrote:It is unbelievable: the u15s, minors (u19s), and the senior team all made it to the final and none of them won. Our last hope remains the u17s who are currently in the quarter-finals (I think). They also won the league in their section.

The u17s just became the fourth Sliema team to reach the KO final of their age category this season, after beating Valletta 3-0 in the semi-final. The player we were talking about here a few days ago scored the first and last goals.

Let's hope they finally win something...

Damn they missed out on first-choice Trapattoni. Would have been so awesome to get him to sign a Bayern shirt with "Strunz" on the back.

I was also hoping for Trapattoni. I have known we were after him for several weeks.

Sliema is also set to announce the signing of Mikael Silvestre, former player of Man United, Arsenal, Inter, and most memorably for us, Werder Bremen, in the coming days. There should also be some other big signings... I have an idea who they probably are, but I do not know for certain which deals were finalized and which were not. :)
