I think your national team is worse than ours  :P

I don't think your NT is a disgrace. I think you lack consistency. WC 2002 you were one of my favorite teams (my fav players were Rustu and Hasan Sas) and more recently 2008

I hope you will join in the future to the World Cup.

Talented players in U18-19 teams?

The problem with Malta is that footballers are not professionals. We tend to have talented players at the younger ages, and I think we will put on a decent showing next May at the U17 Euros (at home). The problem is that many quit at 16-18 because of school or work, or other reasons. Then there is the problem that teenagers will always be teenagers. I know several who are very talented players and who take the sport seriously, but then smoke or drink excessively.

I would do anything to one day see my country at the World Cup though, even if we lose 20-0 in all the games.

and Myles Beerman who plays for Man C are all to be invited to play for Malta U17 Uefa European Championship.

Apparently only the latter is to accept the invite... Actually he is the only who started his carrier on the island.
Piscopo who plays for Inter has only his grandfather from his mother side with Maltese roots. He was born in Australia to Italian father and a Maltese / Australian mother. He can actually play for both Italy & Australia. Yesterday on a sports prog they said that the Malta FA tried to contact him however the Inter officials told them to leave him alone  The chance to turn for Malta is very remote.
As for the other - Sammut the same prog conducted a tele interview with the U18 Chelsea player, were he said that he has already represented Scotland however he didn't rule anything/// The MFA have told him (trying to convince him coming for this tournament) that he can still chose later the NT to play for. So fingers crossed. IMO playing for Scotland does not give him any incentives but still I don't think he'll turn up for us.
Piscopo is a closed case on the contrary to the other he can play for one of the most imp NTs and Australia who are omnipresent in every WC.

Only Beerman has been convinced so far and named in the Malta U17 playing in the Roma Caput Mundi tournament (24th Feb to 1st March). But there's also a Conor Borg who plays for Chievo in the team. [source]

Malta U17 played their first match against England Colleges FA U18 and won 5-3.

For a long time us supporters have remained silent and never spoke up collectively. Over the past years we have seen the downfall of maltese football, our local sport that shapes our lives and our passion for the game we love at stake.

We love football, we love our clubs and we love our villages. Football gives us identity and pride. We want to see Maltese football at its best.

Football is the people's game. We want to see clean football, where players play for the shirt. On the field we are rivals and compete each other, but off the pitch we have realized that we have a common goal; we don't want to see empty stands.

This is #numru12, we are the twelfth player. We have come together in this concept that gives us a voice, so together we bring football back to the fans and promote the game we love.

Sunday's games at the Nat Stadium have been postponed for Tuesday 11.03 because of the rain which rendered the pitch impossible two hold two games. [source]

So the games are to played at the same time of the Ch league

At the same time as Bayern of all CL games.

Always the same. The last game between our two teams was also postponed and if I remember correctly rescheduled to a CL night.

They should have scheduled both games for 6pm in different stadiums...

Doesn't UEFA prohibit domestic league games being played on the same CL matchday ? IIRC last season fined or warned the Italian FA about a Serie A match being played on the same day being played a CL match. I guess nobody is going to watch Maltese football instead of a CL game to bother UEFA financially.

I had heard about this the last time the same thing happened, but I don't think so. There were league matches in other countries on the day.

I suppose it's leagues who have participants in the competition who cannot play.

Whatever it is, it is a stupid decision that will continue killing Maltese football. The games could have at least be played tomorrow. The epitome of stupidity is reached once you realize that the games at the Victor Tedesco Stadium (which is entirely roofless and offers no shelter from the rain/hail) are still being played today.

True... this shows that the MFA does not give a shi* about us. Their priority is the turf. Since the Victor Tedesco stadium is artificial the game can go as scheduled...
Monday could have been OK. But maybe they wanted to give us sometime to recover and got the occasion to do it since the Valletta players who were not picked up by the Coach because of the row between their club and the FA had a week free. So maybe they just wanted to amend things with us who had 7 players playing for the NT

Maybe, but still, that gives a slight advantage next week to Hibernians and Balzan, who played yesterday.

ramsej did you go to the game this weekend? Is it true that they are escorting supporters who insult the referee out of the stadium with a possibility of a temporary ban? #-o

Yes I did, and I've regretted it, we've fu***d up everything, we did not play our usual football, although didn't do much to deserve the full points we at least deserved a point.
I don't know about the ban, but I watched replay and learned about the incident concerning flairs in the stadium after the SLM-BKR game. The police called our secretary to report in the Rabat Station cause the Inspector (or who he was) wanted him to identify those responsible cause it is his responsibility as Club Secr! He told him that he couldn't do so from the VIP and the Police should have discovered the flairs in the first place while doing their routine checks before the match.
They are trying to kill the local football...
Malta Police [-X It seems that we are going straight into a Police State

Yes this is why I asked. The incident with the secretary was too much, but if this is true they have crossed the line even more. I am even considering not going to the semi-final match on Wednesday, as much as I don't want to.

In my opinion this is retaliation for last week's video (a few posts above). Flok jisimghu, ikomplu jwebbsu rashom...

As for the result itself, at least you have the chance to remedy it by winning the next game.
