No his predecessor, Mr Victor Zammit :)

I also have not attended much recently (although I did go vs Valletta two weeks ago) and will also miss the cup match tonight, but I should be back to normal from next weekend. :)

He's a really great guy too, I've met him a few times. If I remember correctly he supports Roma, so he must be happy today! ;)

It's always a bit of a problem when the matches of both clubs clash. Usually I make the decision based on whether or not Bayern's game is "exciting". I've missed a couple of games this season because I chose to watch Sliema instead either because I felt like going out or because Bayern's game was an almost certain win.

ruben sammut chelsea fc [source]

and Myles Beerman who plays for Man C are all to be invited to play for Malta U17 Uefa European Championship.

Apparently only the latter is to accept the invite... Actually he is the only who started his carrier on the island.
Piscopo who plays for Inter has only his grandfather from his mother side with Maltese roots. He was born in Australia to Italian father and a Maltese / Australian mother. He can actually play for both Italy & Australia. Yesterday on a sports prog they said that the Malta FA tried to contact him however the Inter officials told them to leave him alone  The chance to turn for Malta is very remote.
As for the other - Sammut the same prog conducted a tele interview with the U18 Chelsea player, were he said that he has already represented Scotland however he didn't rule anything/// The MFA have told him (trying to convince him coming for this tournament) that he can still chose later the NT to play for. So fingers crossed. IMO playing for Scotland does not give him any incentives but still I don't think he'll turn up for us.
Piscopo is a closed case on the contrary to the other he can play for one of the most imp NTs and Australia who are omnipresent in every WC.

It's a shame, but it's perfectly understandable that they would choose to play for other countries instead of Malta. Especially in Piscopo's case, I would hardly consider him to be Maltese (the same way we consider many German players with foreign roots to be German), so I'll definitely support his decision to play for Australia if he chooses to.

P.S. Tough luck this weekend. We are obviously wary of Qormi and are aware that the same can happen to us, but I can't deny that the supporters are ecstatic that you might just have handed us a ticket to the final. :)

Haven't yet come across them. Yeah Qormi have done very well in the cup these past few years, I'm sure everyone is aware that it won't be an easy semi final. But I guess it is always better vs them than vs Birkirkara.

For now the focus should be confirming a place in Europe next season and hopefully, with a little luck, getting back into the title race. If nothing else, I hope we can at least do you a favour against Valletta next Sunday.

He plays in the Australian A league with Melbourne Hearts.

Do you remember when Turkey played Malta? :) 2-2

For us it was the game of the year for Historical reasons - and with a big coincidence the game was played exactly on the 8th of September.
Victory Day (National feast)! When the Ottoman Empire laid a 3 month siege on Malta (which was under the Knights of St John. And exactly on that day the Ott empire surrendered and went out.

True, we can beat those guys. :P

Our misfortune is that we're part of UEFA. Look at Tahiti, who made it all the way to the Confederations Cup. I think we are better than them.
