Abidal & Alves, Mascherano and they were all in top form and so dominant in all aspects that their workload was minimal. I remember Pep using a 3-4-3 with them at times back then.

From what I see, Barca are trying to buy David Luiz which would be a good fit for them since he's good on the ball & a tall guy which Barca can never have enough but he does come up a little too much at times but hey, he's a huge upgrade compared to Bartra and Adriano!

Barca did have a good defense but that's their first line, when injury hit, he had to convert Mascherano to CB and from then on didn't buy anyone.

Yeah he didn't indeed.. I was initially worried about Bayern wanting to sell Gustavo but after a few matches I can see why, I don't want them to sell Gustavo since I think of him as one of the top 5 destroyers in Europe but I didn't take Kirchoff into consideration and the fact that Rode is likely gonna join Bayern also next season which would give Bayern more than enough options at DM and defense..

Since Sammer's arrival, I somewhat feel very confident that the club is & will be managed well, he's a very intelligent football guy & has a strong personality to make sure that things won't slip so I doubt that he would let Pep manage his defense that poorly at the expense of putting Pep's vision on the field. As good or prestigious of a manager as Pep is, Bayern is a club where the pressure to achieve success is incredibly high so he's probably kept on a short leash even though they let him run the club.

Yeah good thing our Board actually know what they're doing. And we're very stacked for the future. Young and old players. ;)

Sandro Rosell received eight million dollars from the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) through a US company registered to his name for games played by the Brazilian NT between 2006 and 2012; 24 friendlies in all.

The report comes from a Sao Paulo newspaper, Estadão, and has been quoted all over Marca and AS in their main page but on a secondary page on Mundo Deportivo (as of today); a Barcelona daily which seems to think it is not worthy of a front page mention...

Funds embezzlement by the looks of it. Whatever it is, it doesn't look very legal.

This could be Real's first line up of the season

Image

- Casemiro played great games in the preseason and he could take Khedira's place

- I think it's way too much ofensive minded because they have players like Ronaldo or Benzema with zero defensive workrate

Wouldn't it be smarter to play Ozil in Ronaldo's position and Ronaldo in Ozil's position?
Here (at his club of six years Bayern Munich) it is always good, here I am happy and here it's fun. That is more important for me than the national team.

Their formation is largely dependant on Ronaldo and whether he'd like to move to a different position than the left wing one. Doubt Ancelotti will go with a 4-4-1-1 though, he does like the 4-3-3 doesn't he? They've got lots of possibilities just like us :D

Alternatively Isco on the right, Özil in CAM and Ronaldo on the left.

Ancelotti very much likes placating his players above anything else, so where Ronaldo wants to play, that's where he plays.

Not bad I must say. But as you said, it's interesting how it would look with Ronaldo because he is not included in defensive situations but he stays forward, waiting.

Still, there is a lot of work to do here. I can't wait to see the formation and who's gonna play on which position.

Now the same Marca.com is reporting that Arbeloa and Khedira will play #-o

I haven't seen much from Casemiro but it looks like he played awesome games in the preseason

I will never understand how a player like Arbeloa finds himself on RM and the Spanish NT....
