Not bad for them I reckon. Always thought he got wasted at Chelsea so hopefully he can prove his worth at Valencia now.

Midfielder bought in from Real Sociedad (who made it to CL football thanks to a good performance last season).

Hell if I know. But Real has the money anyway. If he flops, they still have Xabi Alonso for this season and another wad of cash next summer.

This is like Javi Martinez's case

Of course his price tag is way too high for an unproven player like him, but he is really talented and Real Sociedad weren't going to sell him at any price, so they had to pay his release clause. And they need him as Xabi Alonso replacement because he will mostly leave at the end of the season. Also he's having some injury trouble at the moment and his form has decreased a lot in the last two seasons

1. If this is really like Javi's case, how come we didn't pay the tax last summer?!

2. I hear Mourinho wants Xabi Alonso at Chelsea, is that right...

3. So Real Madrid really think they can pull a Bayern?... They can certainly wish

I like Sami, but he's really pushing to join the "Kiss My Arse!" squad over here. I'll just place him on the waiting list until further notice ;)
