^ Now I know why Valdes is leaving. It'd have been shameful to be replaced by a 14 year old.

Three or for years? I don't think he'll see the end of his second season.

I don't think he'll see the end of the first season, given the fact that I truly believe that the Copa del Rey is their best shot at a trophy next term.

Keep in mind both times he won the CL were on the back of unsuccessful league campaigns, so don't underestimate him in Europe.

He is a great coach, but Real is a pretty messed up team. That's why I don't see them as major contenders next season.

I don't doubt Ancelotti. He's a great coach but his Milan teams were always defensively well organized teams and all the rest came later.

He can't play this kind of football at the Bernabeu. It's the very same reason they sacked Capello, he didn't play beautiful enough.

Now I rate Ancelotti higher than Capello, he's a more capable coach but can you imagine an Ancelotti team working with a diva like CR7 who doesn't do defensive work, who wants to play only one way, meaning in order to make only Cristiano shine.

I can't.

For me when you hear Ancelotti and then Real it just fits. He is a perfect coach for them, with plenty of honours, charismatic, well-behaved. Mourinho was too "wild" for Real, Ancelotti is just what they need, someone to take everything calmly but at the same time get the necessary respect from players and journalists.

Real would be better off with Ronaldo as manager than any other well-known tactician out there. It's not about the ability of the coach, and Ancelotti is one heck of a coach. It's about the chaos within the squad. No one can straighten that up, and I wouldn't bet on Ancelotti either.

Why retiring Isco’s number might be the stupidest idea ever [source]

^ LOL.

IMHO, retiring numbers should be very very very very exclusive. Maldini's 3 at Milan I understand(There's a stipulation that if ever another Maldini(from his family) down the line came to the club, he should get that 3). We don't use 12 because that represents us fans. Many other clubs have retired 12 too. If LFC retire Gerrard's number, may be that too is right.
Though I said that it should be exclusive, I believe this practice should be stopped except for '12' case.
Just a month back Totti said this in an interview
THE JERSEY NUMBER 10 - "On the one hand I would be proud if Roma were to withdraw the number 10 shirt, but would maybe destroy the dream of a boy to wear the jersey worn once by Totti. One thing is certain: to wear this number in Rome you need a strong personality. Hopefully there is in the future. "

Players have to realise that. And so do clubs.

Personally i would only retire rare numbers like Kroos'(39), Muller's(25) and Schweinstiger's(31) which dont have any previous history on them(to my knowledge) since those players made those numbers special. Unlike 1, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, or 13 since those numbers are iconic by themselves and like Totti said future players should have the opportunity to wear them in the future....

But in Totti's case I don't know he is a very special player especially for Roma. He could have left ages ago and probably have won 4 or 5 ballon dor's on a better team, he may be the only exception to my rule :P

Real Madrid have confirmed that Malaga star Isco will sign for the club upon the successful completion of a medical. [source]

So, uh... that Özil to Dortmund deal, wouldn't that serve them 30 million a lot better?
