No one is denying that - but 2.3 times is a joke... They should work with us instead of against us... Making Bayern more popular would be killing two birds with one stone... The way they're doing it now they're actually ridiculing themselves - I remember several fans of ManUre for example joking about that deal and how it was better than the one for the didcated club partner...

You guys have to understand a big thing...

RM is a Spanish club. How many people in the world speak Spanish vs Geman. Germany will always be at a disadvantage because of language disparities.

RM/Barca essentially has South America, North america and most of the arabic countries too.
Africa is dominated by EPL.
ASia is like RM/Barca and Man U/Liverpool.

I couldn't find the stats by I remember seeing the top 5 most famous clubs in the world and United was the number 1. I don't know if I got that right but I wouldn't be surprised.

Yup...

Also, PL is very popular in Asia... That's where most of their money comes from...

Let me get to my point: to outfit Real Madrid, Adidas actually has to outbid competitors. With us, Adidas already has a foot in the door, and Bayern's already pretty successful without them having to invest more in us.

That's my understanding of the incentives in this scenario. I honestly doubt the relative popularity of the two clubs makes a significant difference. Adidas already has the German league market in North America covered with Bayern, why would they pay more to get something they are already getting for the amount they are paying? :coffee:

They've been outfitting RM for quite a while now, right... So why do they raise it about 600% now?

Bayern don't have the same global reach as Real Madrid, Barcelona or Manchester United ... for now. That's why these 3 clubs have better contracts than us, simple economics.

This article explains it pretty well

A GERMAN team will never be USA's favorite team.

It's very simple. I would imagine a Spanish team, an English team and even an Italian Team to be ahead in terms of popularity due to the demographics of the country. In addition, the language barrier....

Maybe one day Bayern or another german club will be, but I don't think anytime soon or in my lifetime we will ever see that.

Fact is that more than a third of today's US population are of German descent... So I do think there's a possibility...

They have a German coach on their National Team. Their national roster looks like a bad mix between first and second division Bundesliga (and fourth) and the EPL. Their most celebrated player ever trained in Bayern for a short while. And you think they don't want to Germanize their soccer? Interesting.

A third of Usa isn't German.

And evem so if they have small traces of being an ethnic german, most of them do not relate back to their motherland

That's irrelevant. Klinsmann is the one that keeps recruiting the German blood players, not a general consensus of fans. In addition most fans dislike Klinsmann and want him gone.
