Penaldo missed from the spot and Madrid missed two pts...

Same as last year. He missed the penalty against Valencia and cost Real Madrid the La Liga title. Ironic to think that he's the penaldo and missed 2 crucial penalties in their title race for 2 seasons.

Barça and Bayern comparison in their domestic competitions since 2008/09

Liga/Bundesliga won : Barça (5 times) - Bayern (4 times)
Copa del Rey/DFB-pokal : Barça (3 times) - Bayern ( 3 times)
Supercopa/DFB-Supercup : Barça (4 times) - Bayern ( 2 times)

Today, both teams are 8 pts ahead at the top in their respective leagues but for some reason, I keep hearing that only the Bundesliga is a one-team league. I don't even mention Juventus and PSG and their utter dominance in Serie A and Ligue 1 respectively.

That's because Bayern is just too strong for Bundesliga same with Barca even with Real and Atletico competing with them. Juventus isn't really dominating Serie A right now but they will surely win the scudetto. PSG has really no competition to be honest. They are the only team who has the money to spend on world class playersz Monaco didn't live up to the hype when they bought Falcao.

Juve are the four time defending champions, no team in Europe has done the same recently.

You are right on the basis of stats but other factors deceive one into thinking otherwise. Real have won the CL too in that period and have consistently reached the SFs. Atletico reached the final too and Spanish teams have won the EL.

The arguments against the BL are strengthened by the other teams' poor performances in Europe. Apart from the last couple of seasons the point difference was never much bigger than all the other major leagues at any given point. If German teams start winning in Europe people will stop saying that even if we still win the league by 8 points.
Super Bayern! Super Bayern! Hey! Hey!

La Liga also have 2 of the best teams in Europe aside from Barca. Both Madrid teams have been very consistent in Champions League. Both of them also won La Liga in the past few years while in Bundesliga there's Dortmund who are not that good in European competition specially in Champions League and not consistent (season after season) in challenging for the Bundesliga title. La Liga is basically a 3 horse race league.

I can agree with "3 horses" but without "race".

What a shame for Real. No longer considered a threat to Barca. Spends hundreds of millions every season on superstars but can't even be the best team even in their own city "Madrid". We're only in February and they already lost the league. This may turn out to be their 2nd consecutive trophyless season. Poor Ronaldo only won 1 league title in Spain.
