Surely he will go to Chelsea...

FCB general wrote:Villa can't give anything more. Atletico earned a lot of money in this CL campaign, so Simeone will have an opportunity to bring some new players and he will get the big money from selling Costa.

Not sure, they have a lot of financial problems. That is why I do not think they can manage to survive like Dortmund. I hope they do though.

Well, he might be involved in the Diego Costa deal in some form. Something like "We will sell you Costa on the condition of keeping Courtois on loan for another season".

Well, he's under contract. But, he doesn't look like he wants to play for Chelsea. The Belgian has been telling for months that Chelsea is not that smart choice.

Yes, but even those clubs which have financial problems also buy something. They can't just sell all players and put youngsters. Even then must be some 40 mil. € to buy something. That's a slow process, take a look at Schalke and their policy. They have reduced for 100 mil. € the minus in the last 6 years, but also brought players like Huntelaar, Raul, Farfan, KPB, etc.

I wonder if Atletico will get another brilliant striker when Costa leaves, maybe Jackson Martinez? Would fit into that Porto-to-Atletico-semi-tradition.

They spent 40 on Falcao, no? Will Jackson Martinez cost more than that, even with these clauses?

It is like the Eto + cash swap for Ibra, only on a higher scale of stupidity.

Alves had a very poor season. He doesn't seem interested in football nowadays.

Last time he was given a break so he could deal with his marital problems. I hope he's not going through a bad personal patch again.

I don't think that Koke, Juanfran, Miranda, Filipe Luis, Gabi or Arda will leave. I think Atletico will be very strong next season again, even though they won't go as far as they went in 2014

BTW take a look at their new signing. They payed 8M for this guy

Diego, Tiago and "Cebolla" Rodriguez will mostly leave

Tiago has decided not to renew his contract with them and will be leaving. Simeone has also been told that Costa does not need to be sold. The money they have got now because of their run in the CL is a massive help and would help them keep their players and offer them bumper deals. Question is whether Costa wants to stay or go to Chelsea.
