Barca's "let's just outscore them" tactic isn't working right now. More than their defense, they'll have to find a way to fix Messi's lack of fire and Neymar. Messi just walks nowadays. No more darting runs, no more pressing the ball. When he loses the ball, he just doesn't give an f to get it back. He just waits for the ball to come to him. While Neymar dribbles and dribbles until he loses the ball. I remember he did some fancy scissor flicks last week's game. Sure it was nice, but do it on the opponent's half! Not on your half in front of your keeper. #-o

Barca looked better when they were both injured. Pedro is losing his form because Tata wouldn't be able to drop Neymar or Messi even if he wants to. And their passing has been stale as of late, what's the point of tiki-taka if they don't pass with accuracy.

YlonenXabi wrote:One of the main problems they have is that they don't defend as a team. Players like Messi or Xavi are totally useless in defense and they don't have proper CB's (Pique just get worse every game and Mascherano is not CB) So they look more or less like us back in 2011 when we had Kraft, Pranjic and that kind of players

And their midfield lacks creativity. They need new ideas because Xavi's best days are gone. I bet they really miss this guy :)

Xavi is gone, however sad that may sound as it was a joy to watch him during his best days. Their midfield needs some revitalising, although I think Cesc can replace Xavi without much of a problem.

Defence is absolutely dreadful, Pique is a passenger most of the time on the pitch. The board is disgraceful in every way possible and they need a complete overhaul there as well. All in all, it doesn't look very rosy for them and they will need to do a lot of work to get back to their best days.

I'm actually starting to think that City might push them close in the CL, although winning by 3 goals at the Camp Nou is not for everybody.

I guess he was trying to kick the ball out for a corner. Maybe he is right footed as well.

Balague to the rescue.
The Reasons for This 'Different' Lionel Messi [source]

The noticeable lack of running by Messi statistically is 2 kilometers per games less than he used to. But his shots per game is still the same, passing accuracy, and number of explosive runs aren't that much different when he was in-form.

And the vomiting has happened before to Messi only before the games or times of tension.

First he cries in public and now he pays for a 10 month old baby surgery. For the love of God can't you just let me hate you in peace like any normal fan would?

Messi about to break Paulino Alcantara's record, my countryman, for Barcelona's all time goal scorer. Just two goals more.

Paulino Alcantara, born in the Philippines, scored 369 goals in 357 games as a Barça player between 1912 and 1927. He was known as ‘the net breaker’ and usually played with a white handkerchief hanging from his shorts. He's also the youngest player to play for Barcelona at 15 years old. [source]

Well, he did it. Scored a hat-trick today, making him their all-time goalscorer with 371 goals. Incredible that.

They also won by 7:0, great result going in to the Classico next week. I really hope they can win at the Bernabeu.

I don't blame. He's the type of manager that has a vision and in Barcelona, I doubt he's able to do what he really wants. For example, Pedro has always been the better player in the left but because Neymar is back from injury, he only gets to play when Neymar is being rested.

I'm really interested in who they are going to go for in the summer. Depends on who the board is of course but it might be De Boer or Laudrup perhaps.

Martino isn't doing that bad, but I guess they would be better off with someone who has the Barca DNA so to speak.

Perhaps they might be willing to give van Gaal another try?

Fixed.
