Surprisig news indeed. Of course this means they'll finally be forced to address the defence, but now one big transfer won't be enough.

It's not a huge loss in terms of quality TBH

He is far from his best form and getting injured every now and then.

I agree, but it is one less player. They already had to buy a great defender to solve their problems. Now they need two.

beIN sport have just said that apparently Madrid and Juventus have had a deal done for Pogba. Madrid will get the Frenchman paying money + Isco to Juventus.

Might be bollocks of course, but that is great deal for Juve if true. Isco is a phenomenal player and deserves to play more. On the other hand Madrid's midfield is going to look even more impressive with Pogba. We'll see how this one turns out.

Player exchange deals are way to rare in football to take any rumor about them seriously. Also a Juve official recently said Pogba was off limits, but since RM and Juve seem ti have close ties from past transfers it could be true

Just curious. I heard from the commentators before in the Copa del Rey Final between Real and Atletico Madrid that the origin of Hala Madrid was actually from Atletico? Any one know the full story? The only one I can find is Atletico fans does use the chant Hala Madrid, Hala Madrid, the government's team. But it might just be them mocking RM's anthem. RM's anthem was written in 1952.

I guess so, its surprising R.Madrid can win the league without winning an El Clasico...

I don't know the origin of that chant, but I can tell you what other team supporters sing to mock Real

Real Madrid's anthem: "Hala Madrid, Hala Madrid, noble y belico adalid, caballero del honor..." (not worth to translate because it's some outdated chant)

Mocking chant: "Hala Madrid, Hala Madrid, el equipo del gobierno la vergüenza del pais" Which means "The government's team, the country's shame"

Baffling what is happening at Barca right now. There are rumours that Messi is saving himself for the WC and is not giving his all while playing for Barca, although I highly doubt that. They are looking like a team that just doesn't know what to do at times.

They need to have a very good summer transfer window as there are many cracks in their squad, not to mention that they are losing two great leaders on the pitch in Valdes and Puyol. Title looks Madrid's to lose now and they also have the easier run-in out of the two.

One of the main problems they have is that they don't defend as a team. Players like Messi or Xavi are totally useless in defense and they don't have proper CB's (Pique just get worse every game and Mascherano is not CB) So they look more or less like us back in 2011 when we had Kraft, Pranjic and that kind of players

And their midfield lacks creativity. They need new ideas because Xavi's best days are gone. I bet they really miss this guy :)

I got curious so I did some reading. 'Hala Madrid' is taken from the club's anthem and it pretty much means "Go Madrid" or, more specifically, "push till the end Madrid." Any references to the Government is a form of mocking and its origins date back to our friend Franco who used the club, popular as it was, for propaganda purposes.
