By the way Failla wasn't retained ... as you bought a young player for some 1.4 mill ...

Last season was definitely a question of the team and Klopp being burned out; take Mkitaryans revival as prove. They needed a change. I don't think it was a matter of Klopp's tactics being found out either because other BuLi teams are using similar ideas with success.

How would you guys rate German clubs' chances to win the Europa league? I think that Dortmund and Schalke are a cut above most europa league opponents (although some CL teams join in later) and should either win the tournament or have deep runs. But then again, Wolfsburg was a pretty nice side last time and they messed it all up.

It was the other Bundesliga teams that learned how to deal effectively with the counterpress, but don't doubt Mkhitaryan's form contributed to Dortmund's demise.

Wolfsburg lacked European experience, BVB and Schalke don't. They should win it, but its a matter of them wanting to.

Injuries also played role and the striker position, ie big lack of efficiency cost them more than 15 points last season.

Still, I'm not sure if he just burned out or Borussia got fed up with his tactical things. 8 years isn't a short period with one coach in the modern football, either. Season before the last one Dortmund have also struggled with many injuries through the whole season, played that fantastic 2nd leg vs. R. Madrid and ended as the 2nd team behind Bayern.

Klopp is striving to play football as simple as it can be. Only future hold the answers on these questions and doubts. We shall see if he gets opportunity in one elite club.

I believe Tuchel will make a very good job at Dortmund which is the place, in contrast to Mainz, where quality is way bigger and possibilities numerous for his tactical knowledge to move on one level up.

I expect Augsburg to at least reach round of 16.

I just hope Augsburg won't move to relegation battle this season. Many teams like Augsburg which got qualified through Pokal finale or ended very high on the BuLi table often played relegation battle next season. I hope Weinzierl will find some solution and once again make me happy with his management and results.

My secret predict is that BVB will raise Meistershale.
