I don't remember the rule for that.

I think they changed the rules recently and playing in the playoffs no longer cup-ties players.

Either way, CL teams should be able to register one EL-tied player in January.

Makes sense...
They should change that for the Jan transfer window as well...
Cause since the Jan trans wind is considered as a correctional window; without this change is not correctional at all

German teams not called Bayern or Dortmund are pathetic. Neverkusen and Scheiße are squad-wise amongst the best EL clubs, no excuse for this sort of embarrassments. Augsburg I had hoped wouldn't qualify for Europe, they over performed massively (hope Hertha doesn't this season...)

My god, Scheiße and Neverkusen took the fight to the Madrid teams last season and now are struggling against these teams???

I'm still waiting for a convincing performance from Laporte in a big game.

IMO, considering the academy they have and the talents on their team (Sané, Geis, Göre-whatever, Meyer, Höwedes, et al), Schalke are BIG TIME underperformers. They should sack Breitenreiter and get a real coach.

Today proves that Leverkusen are the only team capable of doing decently in Europe apart from Bayern and Dortmund. Schalke haven't been at that level since Neuer left. They did decently in the second leg vs Real last year but that's it.

Mind you Neverkusen tend to blow it too. But the quality is there.

Yes if their entire squad and manager were at any other club they'd stand a good chance

But they're Neverkusen so they'll blow it somewhere along the way
