The first handball shout was a shocking decision. The linesman saw it but ref ignored it. Having said that Villarreal stuck to their plan and got what they wanted from the game. Gladbach missed a great chance just before HT to make it 2 but between that moment and the last five minutes when Gladbach through everything at Villarreal, there was only one team in it. They have a lot to learn if they want to make the later rounds

Wolfsburg need better striker for games in Europe. Also I don't think Knoche is good enough for this level. And Benaglio is in pretty poor form lately.

Wolfsburg are making a bad case for the BL in Europe lol. They have a good team too, but wasting chances worse than we were yesterday.

The final score is very flattering for Everton. Howard made a number of incredible saves.

Wfl ruined it for BuLi.
I did not watch the game but Wolf(I think) the other gk did well against us...so he can take benaglio's place...

Woflsburg 0 - 1 Lille
Penalty for handball from Rodriguez.

Interesting game this. Vfl playing really good but all of their shots are straight at the keeper. Vfl now putting everything into attack now.

Edit: De Bryune with a volley from outside the box. Class. 1-1

Hmmm Rodriguez seems to be a problem magnet... Own goals, penalty's, red cards.. he seems to be Always involved :S

Tbh, i see Wolfsburg getting eliminated in this group.

That was a stupid performance and you could see it coming after wasting so many clear chances. Wolfsburg clearly lack a decent striker and they are having the same problems in BL

I am afraid that with this trend of results BuLi are going to lose the 4th spot in the UCL...

BuLi sides perform ok in the CL though. It's the EL that they're crap in so they should just lose an EL place surely? The last decent EL performances by German teams were from Hamburg and Bremen six or seven years ago and look where they are now

Even with these 2 EL draws they will gain a big point advantage from this matchday alone.. Juve lost, Roma draw.. Only 2 teams in CL where Germany has 4.. 3 won and only Schalke draw..

The first 3 country's are settled in for years. The last year is Always cut off with each season and Germany had remarkable results last 5 years ( Bayern 3 teams CL final and even winner ) BVB final aswell.. Italy has to watch out to not lose their spot to Portugal. I can imagine if that happens, and Italy losing a CL qualiy spot, that that could be the nail in the coffin for Italian soccer when it comes to big stars to Serie A.. Only real attraction is Juve. Roma has to prove their current and last seasons run first.

Eintracht did alright last season in EL. It's the supposed rising Bundesliga teams that are worrying. Wolfsburg and Gladbach should really step it up. Who in their right mind in Wolfsburg even thought of buying Bendtner? #-o
