Stuttgart isn't indestructible per se, but the away game is going to be a bitch.

On the other hand, Gomez says he knows how to score there, so... :P

I know that. :) What I'm curious about is what was going on in the penalty shootout. Why were there so many retakes and why was Weidenfeller complaining so much?

As for Stuttgart, could have been easier but at least we avoided Dortmund and Gladbach :)

I imagine Weidenfeller was just trying to make the opponents nervous - delaying usually benefits the goalkeeper, not the penalty taker.

If that was the case he was acting very stupidly. He got yellow carded because of it and still kept it up. He was risking being sent off

I don't recall a single such sending off, so he knew the risks (or lack thereof).

I don't think I ever saw even a yellow card during a penalty shootout before, so that is true.

Robben did manage to get red carded after the game was over though

I pity you for not watching the Champions League final of 2001... You would have been very happy! ;)

Hehe.. was still too young to be that much into football, apart from watching the occasional game. I did become a Bayern fan that year though, after visiting Munich in December 2001. :)

You should look up the replay of the penalties. Their goalkeeper Canizares was being highly unsportsmanlike, walking up to the penalty spot and eyeballing every Bayern penalty taker for a few seconds in a threatening manner, including the two penalties during the match. He was yellow carded during the shootout but didn't completely stop.

Away to Stuttgart once again :x It's like the third time in four years

Dortmund were extremely lucky, more than Hoffenheim if you ask me. Greuther Fürth is not a bad team and they are serious contenders to be in BL next season. But it could be very nice if we have Bayern, Dortmund, Gladbach and Hoffenheim in the semifinals :D
