Good to have back to back wins. Confidence is up and I saw the players happy on the field, that's always good.

Agree with everything, except Ribery really showed his age in the first half. He couldn't finish any moves and the attack ended up going increasingly through Coman and Kimmich on the right. He got better as the game went on, but I think that Robben and Coman are better options than Ribery at this point.

How exactly are one's arms supposed to be "naturally" positioned while making a slide tackle? It's kind of impossible to put them behind your back and make a slide tackle unless you want to slam your head on the ground and give yourself a concussion. He had his arm on the ground supporting his upper body.

It was the right call, and a red card would have been beyond preposterous.

The ref had a good game IMO.
Do you remember Alaba vs Real Madrid?

I have watched a few Bayern games against Real Madrid in which Alaba played. I assume you are referring to a handball incident? I haven't kept it in my memory. I mostly remember some terrible calls against Bayern, Vidal blasting a penalty over the crossbar, and Pep letting a player's council decide tactics for a CL semis 2nd leg and getting destroyed.

How does this relate to the point that Hummels' arm was where it naturally should be to support his upper body for a slide tackle?

Yes, that Alaba handball in Bernabeu was a joke IMO. Was it a yellow card too?

The game was boring and slow but i don't read too much into it as Bayern played a 3rd division team. Also for the same reason I wouldn't get super excited about individual performances.

2 goals from free kicks.
1 goal counter attack
1 goal corner
1 goal Tolisso's work.

We still didn't manage to create quality chances in open play even vs a 3rd division side. if we don't analyse this game properly, we will pay the price for it in the long term.

Btw, Ribery should bea joker player anymore, not a starter. Otherwise, he will be our Alonso this season.

It was probably the most boring 5-0 win I have ever seen. Quite frustrated with our playing style.

Ancelotti is a joke coach, for 2 years, he's still not managed to find a right tactical formation that suit the team best. No creative play at all, 3 goals from Set pieces

One more game without Thiago's creativity in midfield and I'm doing some self bodily harm or Japanesse sacrifice.

When the highlight of the game is Ribs untying Steinhaus' laces, you know we are back to rock, paper or scissors season.

Sorry to spoil your humour but really bad example. The rock, paper, scissors happened in October 2012...

Really disappointed that Carlo chickened out and didn't give the youngster Friedl a game against a weaker opponent and again persisted with his obsession with experience at LB. The youngsters won't develop until they play games. Not good Carlo.

I know this is a Bayern forum but are you seriously going to lose some 2 hours of your holiday watching an unbalanced match like this? How dedicated :)

Haha I didn't in fact. The reason I didn't though was that it was in the afternoon. I posted under the impression that it was an evening game.

And yeah, I do always watch the evening games when abroad. Last year I travelled for about an hour to find a sports bar showing are 5-0 win over that Russian team in the CL (forgot the name). :)
