TBH, I was pessimistic before the start of the match, my expectation was low. When I heard that Alaba was injured, I almost didn't want to watch the match, I was afraid that it was going to be a slaughter... But boy, too many heart attack moments.
Considering how many players we had injured/missing for this match, I think the team did pretty well. I hope Lahm, Kroos and Neuer will be ok.
Javi is the BEAST when played in the right position, what a man
. Javi, Hojbjerg, Robben and Pizza were fantastic, while Dante, Neuer and Muller had their shining moments. Didn't realize that Kroos actually did well "under the radar", but I think he has improved in the position since 2011-2012.
Now... there is already uproar about the supposed offside Hummels goal which would end the game at normal time. This is probably the most open game we had against BVB since the CL final and results could've gone either way. BVB were bigger threats in our goal than we did against theirs, but I think we dominated the field more. Couple of questionable decisions by the ref for and against both teams.
But in all, that's a much overall improved defence (against BVB no less), the players played with much more determination and fight in them, and Pep seems to steer towards balancing his tactic and our style. So I'm pretty happy with the way this season ends, looking forward to the future
