Bernat was really, really good.

I think that Gotze is best when brought off the bench. Every good performance/important goal he's had has been off the bench (WC final, Dortmund, etc) I don't think he has the energy for 90/120 in big games. Plus I think he has more motivation when he comes off the bench.

Penalties? No big deal...

Tough match, though I was only able to watch the first half live. Götze is a bit of a question mark for me, he has to put away chances like the two clear ones he had; thankfully for the result and for his confidence he scored his penalty.

Great match, though. Bring on Dortmund!

I'm really disappointed with Götze, but I don't want to sell him. I still think he's a good player even in his current form, but we are all hoping to see that magician from Dortmund instead of this crappy version.

I think that he's still just slow and that's his main problem. He lacks pace... but it's not like if he's always been like that or if he's old. He was really fast and quick thinking not so long ago. He should be able to recover at least most of his pace. What's going wrong with him :?:

Lost and slow are the best word to explain his current form, most of the game this season he seemed lost on the pitch, like if he doesn’t understand the game and its fluidity, and his problem doesn’t begin in execution, is worst, it begins in the normal participation (passing and positioning) of a player for help the team to develop offensive plays.

Beginning the season his goals protect and defend his underperformance, now he have nothing for protect him from critics.

Bayern's Özil. What we have seen so far just proves, without a doubt, he is not qualified to be upfront. Not a false 9, not a left winger. Müller was tasked to be the the one in the middle and Lewa and Götze slightly ahead of him which hasn't worked with all his misplaced passes. If anything, Lewa should be the one holding up play against Neverkusen's press like he did last time w/ BVB. Müller cant fend off a press with his strength.

Bayern also didn't cross enough in this game which were the sources of all three clear cut chances for the trio up front. They focused on the middle which like BVB is a battlefield of tumbling bodies. It's probably because of the lack of support to Rafinha and Bernat with the absence of wingers.

Rode again is great against Neverkusen. It's his fighting spirit to attack the swarm that suits well against them.

I expected a very tough game (even with Robbery) and it is what we got. Neverkusen's swarm has been annoying from the start of the season and still annoying now. All those little fouls and then when they got touched they fcking dive and to that the referee got no backbone.

Bayern again was outshot 19 to 10, same 3 shots on target though and we got the better chances.

We need depth in the left wing. When Ribs is missing, we lack a lot of creativity. For the right wing I think Müller can cover very well for Robben, he was one of the best players in the field yesterday.

That was a very tough game with very few instances of nice football. We also got a couple of scary moments from Bellarabi, but that's the advantage of having the best GK at the back. We were plagued by a lot of injuries, and our players were clearly fatigued. Still, it was a job well done against one of the fastest teams out there as Pep put it out. With the arguably wrongly disallowed goal, and the three "easy" chances missed by Muller, Lewandowski, and Gotze, respectively, it is fair to assume that we deserve to progress more than the Levekusen.

Beside the sluggishness of Gotze last night, I was a bit disappointed with Thiago. He did some nice passing, but he had a couple of moments where he lost focus/went adventurous and lost the ball in dangerous positions.

True. Last game he said he was tired after like 10 minutes, so I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt that it's because of fatigue/stamina, considering he played ~60 mins yesterday.

Agree that we played relatively badly, but I must say I'm loving the Lewa-Muller duo. Perhaps a good part of it is simply down to Lewa finding himself.
