I honestly think we're gonna win this. Villareal won't be able to play too much with out midfield so Rossi and Nilmar are the only threats, both great striker but nothing Bayern can't handle. Can't wait to see Heynckes revenge :)

I have to say that Villarreal were absolutely awful yesterday, but judging them by that game is not fair since Barca can make any decent side look like shit. So, Bayern should not let their guard down.

So Villareal lost 5-0 against a Barcelona team made up of mostly reserves, and Napoli lost by the same score last week.

Hey, we played with mostly reserves too and only lost 2-0! :P

Only threat from Villareal is Rossi. If we can block that player,we are leaving Spain undefeated.

Not true, Borja Valero is amazing when in form. One of the most underrated players in Spain. =D>
Also Lopez can pull fo amazing things when in the mood. Losing Cazorla may have been too much for them to cling on to a CL spot this season though.
But their back line was horrible against Barca, worse than ours last year.

Also Dambun speaks wisely. We are Bayern Munchen, basta!
I'll paint any car for 3.95.

Assistant coach Peter Hermann took advantage of the free Monday to witness the 0-5 defeat of the first Champions League opponents FC Villarreal FC Barcelona. Surprised, he stated there that the Barca team defended with a triple row.

I don't care how we go play, it is time we add insult to injury here!

Barca, I'm told, played a 3-4-3 formation against them. Looks like all-guns-blazing tactics might work well here.

Yeah, because of their lack of players. 2 of the defenders were Busquets and Mascherano.

If we really wanted to copy Barca, something like this would be our best bet:

------------------------Neuer-------------------------
----------Gustavo----Tymo-----Boateng-----------
Muller--------Schweini-----Kroos-------------Lahm
----Robben-----------Gomez-------------Ribery----

Seems really good actually, but we shouldn't do it unless forced to.

You're kidding, right? We'd be slaughtered with counter attacks. Our midfield (Schweini-Kroos) isn't fast, and then there's 3 central defenders. That would be tactical suicide.

I don't want it. I don't think we should change our usual playstyle unless forced to. However, others were discussing the fact that Barca played 3-4-3 going all-out against them and won 5-0, and I suggested that if we were to copy Barca (not that I want it), we would play something like that. We should not use that formation unless forced to for some reason or ther.

When you are on the road in a hostile and new environment you always want to play to your strengths and not change things up much. Go with the tried and true and proven as nine times out of ten it will work far better than some new creation or idea.

Bayern's biggest mistake would be to let the Barca/Villareal scoreline influence how we approach this game. Bayern have to want this game and want it badly and let it show on the field of play with their effort, then good things will happen.

I think Jupp is a smart enough coach to approach this game right. He looks like he has the knack for going for the result. We've lacked a proper winning mentality for so long, to be honest.

I have my doubts, the rigth aproach is to rest our key players against Freiburg ,we will see in the next hours.

Not all of them. We can't take Freiburg for granted and we need the 3 points, and remember we didn't have too much time to prepare for this game. Start most of the key players, take a 2-goal lead or so, then rest them.
