Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich

Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich
Competition: Champions League
Venue: Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, Madrid

After winning the first leg against Real Madrid, FC Bayern are off to the intimidating Santiago Bernabéu for the second leg knowing that a 1-0 loss would be enough to be eliminated (through away goals rule).

While Bayern should be able to rest some players for the now-meaningless Bundesliga fixture on Saturday, Real Madrid play away to eternal rivals Barcelona a few hours later. This should translate into a fitness edge and will be important if we manage to score an away goal (they will be very tired during injury time if the score is 2-1 after 90 mins).

Bayern have 7 players with one yellow card away from missing the potential Champions League final: Lahm, Alaba, Boateng, Badstuber, Gustavo, Kroos and Mueller. On the other hand, Real Madrid have Sergio Ramos, Coentrao, Xabi Alonso and Higuain risking missing a potential El Clasico Champions League final.

Boateng, Lahm, Alaba, Gustavo, Kroos and Muller, only important 1st team players :(

I hope it won't affect them too much in this 2nd leg. One stupid yellow and they can kiss goodbye the final. Heynckes should tell the team to take the bullet for Lahm or Boateng if possible, do it for the team you know:). Still it's probably a very bad idea and it will just mess up with their heads, everybody has been equally important to get this far.

I know I'm a little greedy, getting past real with a 3-2 defeat and all the players suspended would be a success, but, I want it all :)

Sympathy with Bayern Squad

Our bench players are terrible for a team aiming to win the CL

How about getting the non-booked guys be more agressive, so they can take the attention to themselves, like they did in Munich, I like that was the main plan for the game.

Not that we have a lot nonbooked guys lol, but we can mix tymoshchuck in the first line-up too, somehow :/ I'm realy worried cause I really don't think someone will get through without a 2nd card :/

Hay guys,

I'm a Chelsea fan (forum is talkchelsea.net if you want to come visit).
Just wanted to congratulate you guys for your win over Real Madrid and wish you luck for your 2nd leg.

Hope one of us can knock out one of the Spanish super powers, or better yet, we meet in the final :o .
Love Gomez, think he's a class player!

Have good one :D

I have major respect for Drogba despite the antics and diving [See: Ribery. Robben]. A bit pissed at Torres for the Final of 2008, but he's getting back into form. Lampard is a bit of a beast and a club like us seriously need the services of someone like Ramires. Good luck on the SF and May the odds be ever in your Favour!

Fingers crossed for a Bayern/Chelsea final. Two Spanish teams in the final would be a diving competition.

ofcourse no team has World Cup Golden Boot winner in their bench but looking at teams like barca having players like tello, Alcántara brothers, Cuenca, etc but our bench in terms of strength and quality is terrible...
