Muller showed some positives against Leverkusen:
- Much better off the ball play than what he showed against RMA. He seemed more eager to run, whereas he was mostly static vs RMA. This is more like the raumdeuter i know.
- Was able to hold off defenders better than vs RMA: he managed to lay-off the ball to Thiago, Robben, Vidal... when under pressure from Toprak and Jedvaj, and even got Jedvaj a red, although this was mostly down to the guy's rash play rather than Muller's cunning play
- Was willing to go wide to put crosses in rather than just move laterally in the box. We will need this vs. RMA.

Then again, he was playing against a struggling B04, not an inspired RMA, so dont get your hopes too high.

Rafinha was impressive. Good tackles, 2 nutmegs, some nice overlaps... If we desperately need to switch up our tactics, we can easily play him in a back 3 and put Lahm in midfield, even though I never really liked the idea of Lahm in midfield.

With that said, I have mentally prepared myself for a makeshift back 4: Lahm, Alonso, Alaba, Bernat. There is no way I will tolerate Kimmich as a CB, otherwise we might as well play Muller as a left winger (dont try it). Alonso must play at CB, and forget playing Feldhahn or Gotze there, they are not experienced enough.

With that said, if we are still at least 1 goal short after 70 mins, I propose the following formation change:
Alaba - Hummels (subbed in) - Alonso
Lahm Vidal Thiago
Robben Costa Muller Ribery
Lewa

This is the ultimate desperate attacking formation, given the players we have.

We've had that Alaba-Bernat and other combos often enough for me to trust them...
If we score 4, we can concede 3... I think our second team CBs could do that, as defense is a team effort...

I wonder why Bayern haven't yet employed you as chief team motivator

Yeah I don't think it's actualy Lewandowski who's going to score the goals (bar him having one of those mental days), because half the RM gameplan will be stopping him. It's the others who have to step up and use the space, which is why it can't be 4-3-3, can't be Alonso and has to be Müller on 10.

If Lewy somehow scores 2 early enough and gets into his rytm then It might end up as a night to remember heh

RM wasn't even that good, domination is natural vs 10 men in a match of this calibre, also Carlo made a mistake with the subs. It's hard but doable.
