Give them some credit friend, they won 2 out of the last 3. If we do manage to eliminate them it will be a long hard hard hard battle not a 10 minute jobbie #-o

I am going to keep it simple
This Madrid shit is giving us heartache (both madrids)
so for next year i want:
arsenal at 16
benfica at 8
basil at the semis
and hamburg at the final (just to be sure)

If Hummels can't make it back in time for the match which is looking quite likely I really think we should do a 3 back and load up the midfield. Our defense was struggling anyway so having more midfielders will allow us to control the game better. If Real do what I expect them to do we can push really hard for a quick first goal and get the momentum on our side. If the players are ready for the challenge I know we can pull this off

Again with the Schalke thing...

They were leading by two and completely underestimated them...
Plus it was a different team, both were...
Hope is quite ok, but too many people here seem to have lost connection to reality...
Thanks for nothing, :pep: !!

I still think if we play with Lewy and Muller at the same time it will create a mismatch for the Madrid defense. Lewy's presence alone will open up spaces for other players and we will see if Nacho can cope

You're 100% right. It just could be one of those nights. Come on.

When have we last had "one of those nights"? I remember four ties (and I doubt there were many more...) where we advanced on away performances ... Arsenal twice, but both first legs were away games, and Gøteborg some time with Trappatoni, where we drew 2-2... The only one where we were really under pressure against decent opposition was Barcelona 96, where we also drew at home... I don't think we ever turned around a home loss, especially against a top team, in my lifetime...

It completely slipped my mind that this could be Lahm's last CL game.

Now I expect him to have a Basti-WC-final performance

I can recall one time we played better away than at home against top opposition. We didn't qualify but still we got a much better result. Milan in 2007

True - but we were utter shit in both games... And quite frankly, if we don't advance I'd rather get trashed than win 1-0, cause that'd just lead to Dummenigge bouncing his balls and patting his own shoulder again instead of taking action...
