Just like it was with Lyon two seasons ago, the French league is helping Olympique Marseille to progress to the Champions League semifinal. They have decided to postpone the league match between the first and second legs in order for the OM players to gain some rest. This is a big disadvantage and puts more pressure on Bayern to achieve a good result in the first leg.

Standing ovation to the french league =D> . Thats what i call being a patriot.

Olympique Marseille have gained some much needed confidence ahead of their clash against FC Bayern. Yesterday they drew 1-1 away to Nice while playing the whole second half with 10 men. They also scored with 10 men.

Olympique de Marseille could be without the services of Souleymane Diawara for the visit of Bayern Munich in the Champions League after the defender suffered a knee injury in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Nice.

The former Bordeaux stopper was replaced by Charles Kabore after just five minutes of action at the Stade Velodrome, following a collision with opposition attacker Esmael Goncalves.

A sprained right knee was the diagnosis, but more details on Diawara's condition will be given within the next 48 hours.

However, the worst case scenario would see the Senegal international miss Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final first-leg with Bayern Munich.

Marseille saw their run of five consecutive defeats in Ligue 1 come to an end against Nice, but are still without a league win since February 26, when they beat Brest 1-0.

This is only important for the return leg as he is suspended for the match on Wednesday.

Oh yes. I had completely forgotten about that.
Mandanda and him are out.

I guess M'Bia will be forced to revert to his old CB position alongside that Fanni guy. Let's hope he's rusty.

I think they are going to go for a now standard CL 4-2-3-1 with:

Rémy
Ayew - Valbuena - Amalfitano
Mbia - Diarra
Morel - Nkoulou - Fanni - Azpilicueta
Bracigliano

- Team captain and second MVP Mandanda (GK) of course is red-kaputted; perfekt news for us.
- Diawara is suspended too, which I figured will mean Nkoulou moves to CBL (not a biggie) and Fanni to CBR, a secondary position for him.
- Rémy, their preferred striker, was rested on their last game. I think he is certain to play us next match.
- I don't see much of a rotation on their attacking midfield line other than Ayew getting subbed on the second half. It is safe to say this will be their AM lineup.
- Mbia is a good CB that is being poised as DM lately, a secondary position for him. This part is a bit dubious for me as they can play Cheyrou next to Mbia; but I figured Diarra was played only for 20" last match on purpose.
- On thing that caught my attention was Nkoulou's absence from the squad yesterday. He was not even benched. Interesting. He is either coming back for Mario with a vengeance, or not at all...

Apparently Loic Remy is also injured, at least according to this article.

This sucks for Marseille.

He ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

According to this article, the reason why Loic Remy did not play against Nice is that he has a sore thigh. It is uncertain whether he will be available against Bayern Munich.

This is my first post. hello everyone.
Bayern should easily win this. Their goalie and Diawara are punished, so at least bayern should score one or two. even a draw there like 1-1 is good enough. The pressure will lie with the french side back at home and I don't think they have the material to cope with that. If bayern plays it smart and Gomez scores at least one of three or four chances he will definitely have in this game, then it will be a run in the park. it is important not to go there with the aim to destroy them in the first game, as this could turn in suicide. At the end this is champions, you have to be wary, as episodes can decide such a game. If we score in the first half then more goals will come.
