First time Bayern return to semi-final since 2001

Hopefully this CL ends like 2001 :D

It will be very hard for us...

Our players will think that we are in finals but that is not true because they are strong.

Lyon was great against Real Madrid and showed that they are great in defending as a team and good on counters...I think we cant let another "bordeaux" to happen.
French teams are all like that...good on counters and set pieces...I just hope they dont surprise our players.

I must say that Bordeaux was a better team in quarter final legs....they were much better yesterday and could have won by 3 or 4 goals...and were quite good in Lyon in first match.

I guess it is better to play Lyon than Bordeaux because they are not good for us as we all have seen:D

We will clearly receive a goal as we always do...if we manage to keep clean sheet at home than I can say we are already in finals after the first game.

I hope I am not to confident if I talk about opponent in finals...I would go for Inter as we all know Barcelona can kill us easily with our defense...and Inter is only club that are solid enough and have good tactician to beat Barcelona.

Hey even if we lose to Lyon I wont be that sad because it is a great achievement that we are in semis with this defense:)

The one thing i've noticed about Lyon is that they are well organized team. They will be looking to contain our number one player Robben, and Ribery as well..... The fact that they advanced at the expense of Real Madrid and Bordeaux should be a concern for us. Bordeaux beat us both home and away, even though we were still getting into our stride, i think we have to take them very seriously. Hopefully no injuries occur and we continue our winning ways.

I have to say we are a bit lucky to be where we are, considering our defense. They put too much pressure on Butt when they pass back to him so often; and he doesn't do himself any favors with the bad clearances. Individual errors is a real crisis at the moment, we just can't keep a clean sheet. This will become more costly and Robben can't always have a phenomenal goal at every important game. At this point i don't see any improvement there, so we'll just have to hope on Robben, Olic, Ribery and lady luck.

I think it will still be open for both teams after the first leg, they're too organized. I'm confident we can make the finals though.

Btw, Badstuber and MVB are suspended for the first leg. We'll probably see Contento and Pranjic. I don't think we'll win at home. I voted for a draw.

I really hope that Tymo would be the replacement for MVB and not Pranjic. Tymo can help our defense a lot and close some gaps...

I also hope that Contento take some playing time before that game vs Lyon...

I hope Tymo will play too, but it's unlikely. Once again it was Pranjic who came in yesterday.

And Contento will get playing time. LVG is using him in the BL, he just doesn't want to use him the CL due to lack of experience (I think).

Lyon will be difficult. We are not exactly Lyon specialist are we, we won last year there but all of us still remember 2001 that beating they gave us. This lyon side is better than last year with dangerous players. Lisandro is a class act, and other top players like toulalan, cisssokho and LLoris. The one we should watch out for is Pjanic he is creative and can score the goals.

To beat Lyon we have to win at the Alianz, especially by two goals, if we do that we can counter attack and beat them. A close result at the alianz will make it really difficult for us. The loss of MVB is a blow because, he is the fighter and captain in the midfield. Pranjic is a gd footballer but i think altintop would be better there, when you look at his performances turkey.

I also think we need to be tactically variable a bit more, too much of the same I am seeing, sometimes its like watching handball we need to be more direct. At the end of the day if we play well we go through, if not lyon will take us apart like they did in 2001 or that 7-2 to bremen they did.

Mission Madrid truly underway

U r right, but our defense needs some help as we saw yesterday and Pranjic is useless defensively...

But with Badstuber suspension he is the most likely candidate for LB position...

Bayern are famous for playing well against a top class team when there underdogs, then coming back the next game playing as if they won before the whistle blows to start the game. Look at the last game against Manchester, they figured -we won 2-1, and know we have Robben-, and look what happened in the first half! And sure there doing great on 3 fronts, BUT THEY STILL HAVEN'T WON A THING!

This applies directly to Bayern, they must endure to win anything, LET ALONE THE TREBLE!

Psychology is everything. We must not see Lyon as underdogs - they aren't anyway. We usually play better when we are feeling underdogs :)
We must play focused and determined and then we'll have some chances for reaching final ...
