Ouch that hurts. They will be considerably fresher. Just what they need for that extra edge...

Regardless of today's result, I would only make one change in this game, Robben instead of Muller

Robben is a 100%.

But, I would keep Muller as CAM and Kroos as DM. Alaba-Gustavo was a disaster today IMO, and would be a bigger one against the likes of Shaqiri and Fabian Frei.

Given the performance of yesterday's match, I hope we'll see the following starting XI:

--------------Neuer
Rafinha-Boateng-Badstuber-Lahm
-------Gustavo/Tymo-Kroos
-Robben----Muller----Ribery
-------------Gomez

Yeah, but Tymo to start ahead of Gustavo surely. He ran 12,7 kilometers and, well, didn't have much to show for it.
The ideal team

--------Müller with gloves--------
-Müller--Müller--Müller--Müller--
-------Müller---------Müller-------
----Müller----Müller----Müller----
---------------Müller---------------

Yep, Robben must start.

I don't really mind which one plays from those two, but Kroos must play. I don't care how he played yesterday, but I definitely don't want to see a Gustavo/Tymo combo or worse Alaba replacing Kroos. It would make much more sense to play that duo in the home game when Basel will be looking for counters.

Ribery...Kroos...Muller...Robben
...............Tymo
Pranjic..Holger...Boateng...Lahm

Contento is still injured, so that's his line of thought, I guess.

Personally I'd rather play Gomez at LB than Pranjic.

How man? , he did work so hard and I think there were no problem defensively at all because of him and Boateng and he did made many very good interceptions , the problems from him were that unnecessary fouls he usually makes.

And I think an away match against team with fast players like Basel needs someone like Gustavo if he is 100% fit of course

Gustavo needed to offer something going forward, which he did not.

I am not saying he is a bad player, lord no, simply that without Schweini we should look at some alternative options.

I know it's a little bit risky for the CL, but I would give this a try at least a half:

-----Golic
Rib--------Rob
Kroos-----Tymo

I know it will never happen but I would do this

................Gomez...............
Ribery........Alaba..........Robben/Muller
.........Gustavo...Kroos...........
Lahm....Holger...Boateng...Rafinha

I think Alaba has the versatility/speed/distribution of a modern CAM. He also gels VERY WELL with Ribery and is quite attack minded (makes more mazy dribbling runs than Muller or Kroos from the center). He will also be very useful to win balls back when pressuring them in their own half alongside Gomez (which is what Muller is very good at also).

Need Gustavo to contain Shaqiri. Hes excellent when the other team has one creative genius and Gustavo simply needs to stop Shaqiri from playing his game. Gustavo can do this (he did it with SNeijder).
