I disagree with pretty much everyone. We HAVE to play our game and attempt to win the possession game, especially away. Martinez being able to play 90 minutes at his best is wishful thinking. With Badstuber out, Dante in questionable form, and Alonso the likely player to be supporting our CBs, we will get slaughtered if we let Barca have the ball. We must have possession and terrorise their weak defence so that they'll have as few chances as possible. We're the only team who can possibly out-possess Barca.

Who cares about possession? I want the Thiago to Lahm to Müller to Lewan one touches that are driving everyone from Frankfurt to Porto scream in anger and awe.

... Barca.
Yay.
I suppose if we want to win the CL, we'd need to play Barca at some point.
Better we get two legs I suppose, I just hope Pep gets the tactics right from the beginning this time.

Being aggressive on the mark for recover the ball and determination for attack during the counter, these were the two qualities I remember from Bayern of Jupp in the 7-0.

Pep could repeat these strategy or maybe unexpectedly we could win the battle of possession, but if Bayern develop their possessive game, they should attack with their lines separately as far as possible, for our defenses being well positioning for the counter. Yes, fans don't believe in Dante, but I don't think Pep will define the strategy because of him.

It is all about Plan A and Plan B.

Happened after 20 passes ;) Agree with FCBayernMunchen play our game and stop Barca from playing theirs.

Is not about 3 defenders, it is about a dynamic formation, attacking with three defenders on the back, and defending with 5 players in the defensive line, when the fullbacks return to support the centre back.

Bayern must need legs for being capable of defend as a team and attack with all their guns during the 90 minutes.

Alonso as a cb??? I know Dante is in terrible form and probably has a lack of confidence but its extremely unlikely that Alonso would ever play cb...

Yep, that 7-0 brings me back great memories.

But this match now comes in a very different situation. Messi was injured back then and we had Javi Martinez - Schweinsteiger combo to destroy their game. Now Schweini is not in his best form and Javi has been injured for 8 months. We don't have the players to play that kind of tactics and Barcelona is stronger now.

I just hope we can play with our current squad. Alaba, Ribery and Badstuber won't play... but NO more injuries please [-o<

One thing is sure. Pep is going to do something REALLY unpredictable and crazy for this game. He usually does it before the big games, but now against Barça I'm sure he will try something completely unexpected

Who knows. In 32 minutes he managed to "show the entire world he is better than Messi" so perhaps another 180-210 minutes won't be the end of the world.

As central defender in a 3-man defence he was really great.
