I think this, excluding the absence of Alaba, is the best line-up we could field even if everybody was healthy. However, I do think that we have to first see if Martinez can immediately perform on a high level like Thiago has done. If he can, I immediately feel much more confident about this series. That trio is almost unstoppable, if everyone is fit. Bernat has obviously shown all season, how fantastic he is at tracking back to defense and running after quick wingers. I think Muller has to be on the pitch for all of the remaining big games. His new found chemistry with Lewandowski has proven to be deadly and I can't wait to see what will happen, when Robben is added to the equation. It is certainly a thrilling series on paper, but also a nerve-wracking one, because of our constant injury problems.

Exactly what I thought too. Their offense is probably better than us but their defense is even worse. Pique's new found form seemed to have evaporated with Bass Dost's.

This Barca won't be afraid to give up possession and counter though. Their midfield today can be easily outplayed like what happened against Valencia but their MSN has enough quality to overcome the teams' weaknesses.

Absolutely, I watched the first half of the game and they cleared lost the battle in the midfield..
Anyway, I see Barça more of a counter team than a possesion one.. I might be crazy, who knows :D

Well both of them should be back against Dortmund next week. Benatia, despite his many injuries this season, has been quick to return on the pitch after resuming training. Robben usually doesn't usually need that much time to get back in form. If they (especially Benatia) aren't ready to play big minutes in this game, we will be in trouble. Dante can't get a minute in these matches.

Not my favorite choice, but could be the best tie in terms of pure football we've seen for a while.

Few points I have in mind, not sure if you guys agree:

- It's not the best match to give Gotze another chance. His form can wait this time.
- Remember when Martinez played as CB before? were you guys really happy with what you saw? Not me.
- Will Martinez even be ready? I don't know.
- Benatia MUST be ready. Please.
- They have MSN, but they also have a suicidal defense, it didn't change much from 2 years ago if you asked me
- I'd rather face Barcelona in 2 legs rather than in a final, same goes to Real Madrid.
- It WON'T be easy like the last time. It will be hell guys. HELL that we're hopefully ready for.
- Pep knows Barcelona well, no matter what coach they have, they will always be Barcelona.

I have full faith in the players. Mia San Mia

We need more Robben and Ribery against Barcelona, than if we face Juve or Madrid, because with this opponent who will probably have more time of possession, Bayern will need speed for counter their defensive line who will probably concede holes during they develop their game of possession.
Super-Bayern! Super-Bayern! Hey! Hey!

Martinez hasn't flourished in a traditional four-man defensive line in Bayern, but what we have seen of him as a sweeper in a three-man line has been utterly fantastic. It allows him to be the aggressive destroyer he naturally is, but in defense instead of the midfield. I think Pep has been eagerly waiting for his return to execute this plan. I'm sure Martinez will be one of the key players in his strategies, when he gets back in form.
