By whipping their whipping boys?

Valencia might be the only team in Spain not considered to be one of their whipping boys. This is evident by the fact that they drew with Real (1-1) and narrowly lost to Barca (0-1) this season. Beat them by 2+ goals, and message sent!

Madrid beat them 6-0 at the Mestalla in 2010/11. Barca thrashed them last year too. They didn't get destroyed this year because the giants haven't clicked into gear.

Yeah, but I recall their first game against Barca last year. If they weren't as wasteful as we usually are (well at least as we were last season), they would have thrashed the mighty Barca themselves. That said, it still ended 2 - 2 IIRC. Plus, this year they have been a sniff below the top two. I am not saying that they are a tier-1 team, but in the eyes of many La Liga and UEFA public, they are considered as the next best thing in Spain. So, beating them by a good margin will definitely send a message to that public in specific. I remember some of the Bilbao fans over here during the Martinez saga stating that Bayern is not a top team, and even degrading us to below the levels of ManUtd and Chelsea. And that seems to be the view for a lot of other people around the world (eventhough that has definitely been changing over the past couple years). Having a strong impression over the public will lead to a strong impression over the media, and hence over our main competitors for the title this year.

P.S. I lost count of the number of off-topics I mentioned in this comment :P

I'll be sitting in block 120. I placed a mark of reservation for all our three matches and just canceled the two I had no interest in. :)

I have a question, how much does a CL match cost in the Allianz arena

For an Uefa Champions League match it is 80€ per person in category 1, 60€ in cat2 and I believe 40 or 50€? in Cat 3. There is no standing room in UCL matches.

Valencia's consecutive CL Finals and domestic success are what saved them from melting down like Leeds. Both invested a lot to succeed in Europe, but Valencia triumphed where Leeds failed.

Valencia lost 1-0 away to Barcelona 10 days ago and will be playing on Saturday at home to newly-promoted Celta Vigo.

I´m wondering about Heynckes`s words in an interview on fcb.de today .... He said that he wouldn´t knew allready when Javi will be in the starting 11 (maybe vs. Mainz ...?). It is really strange to think only that he could start already in his 2nd game with Bayern. In my opinion he should approach Javi sensitivly to the team to show the other Players respect (especialy Gustavo) as well as there is no need to hurry up for changing the team because it is working good at the moment. I wanted to hear Heynckes`s clear position and not a "halfway" statement like this. But maybe he don´t wanted to put the cards already on the table ...

It's better not to make a final decision this early.
