We don't need that much of a luck to beat them. They are a world-class team, no question about that, but we also are a world-class team and when we play up to our potential we can beat anyone. My point is that we actually faced better opposition than Real this campaign, and that should give us more confidence when coming up against a top team. Whereas, they didn;t have that much of a competition in the previous rounds. So, uncertainty will be a factor played in our favor not theirs. Plus in the semi-finals, good day form is needed by all teams. You cannot have an off-day and still qualify for the finals, so everything I wrote was under the assumption that we will be having a good day form

Here is what Ronoldo (misspelling on purpose) says:

I am already working on my connections for a ticket to the finale. Freshly brewed Boarischer Bier and a fourth European Championship, it doesn't get any better than that.

Thanks, amended. It is interesting that we beat Real Madrid by the same exact score, exactly one year later (2001-05-09).

With Schweinsteiger going to be back, and five players one yellow card away from suspension (namely Boateng, Alaba, Gustavo, Kroos and Mueller), what formation would YOU play?

It seems with our whole midfield fit, one of Gustavo, Kroos or Mueller needs to sit on the bench. Seeing as this is the home leg, I'd rather go for a more attacking approach and probably play this formation:

Did you intentionally switch Lahm and Alaba's positions or by mistake?

Anyway, I think this tie could potentially be the tie of the season. I see many similarities in the team. The two current best GKs are there, together with two of the strongest attacking sides and two of the strongest midfields. The weak point of both teams is the defense.

Real Madrid have some things going in their favour, mainly the fact that they have a strong bench, and less worries of suspensions in the second leg. They also have better individuals who are capable of doing incredible things on their own (just see their goals yesterday, for example).

However there are other areas where Bayern are superior. We might not have that many individuals who change a game on their own, but when they play for each other as team, I believe that there is no stronger attacking side in Europe. The same thing goes for our defense. It's inexperience is worrying, but at least they can play together and hopefully we'll have Schweini back. He'll make a big difference. The fact that we play a possession-based game also means that Real Madrid will not have as many chances as they have against the likes of APOEL and Osasuna, for example. Barcelona have proven this. Their defense is not that strong (especially when they always have injured defenders) but find it hard to score even 2 against them.

So these should be two great games. We need 200% from every player, but I believe the two most important players will be Schweini and Kroos.
Super Bayern! Super Bayern! Hey! Hey!
