I also think it's gonna be more or less the same game, but we'll probably be more clinical with our finishing and also they will mostly defend worse than they did because the game will be played in our home

But with Schweini and Martinez missing for this game I'm a little bit worried about two things

1- Our midfield lacks strength
2- We are more vulnerable in set pieces

We'll mostly have Ribery, Robben, Rafinha, Lahm, Kroos, Alaba... while they have a lot of tall players and they are great in set pieces. In fact Evra is not very tall but he is very good at headers, so I think it's very important that our team stay focused in set pieces.

the solution therefore is : Tiki Taka and 80% possession

@kod2600: from which page did you get that image? I see it is one whole image. Those were actually two separate picture which I posted in the fun thread and it was MUTU who merged them into one. :)

Found it while scrolling down on facebook, posted by a Bayern Munich fan page, can't remember it's name exactly.

I hate 'newspapers' like the Sun etc, and good on Bayern for banning them. I wish United would take a similar stance.

I will say though, they weren't calling Schweinsteiger a pig. You'd probably have to be English to believe me, but it was just simply a play on the word 'swine', which despite where the word might have originated from, is just a very moderate way of insulting somebody. On par with calling somebody a rascal for example.

Even though you may be right on the 'swine' part, they still increased the insult by adding the word 'dirty' before it.

Yeah, totally not needed. Like I say don't like them at all, just thought I'd put a bit of context with it.

 It's been some time since he last ran up to join in on a play, would love to see Guardiola's reaction if he did in the second leg :P

As for tactics, think Neuer - Alaba, Dante, Boateng, Rafinha - Lahm, Kroos - Ribéry, Müller, Robben - Mandzukic would be the best possible lineup. With Pizarro and Shaq as subs.

That COULD have been an amusing article, I like the idea. But the author failed to make it so.

The reason I am at all concerned about this tie is that no one on the team seems to be in great form. Everyone is playing at or below the general standard of expectation except for Basti (he has been on fire) and maybe Robben. If we go further down the bench I could maybe mention Shaq and Pizza as wellt... although we might win on merit of MU being a poor side at the moment, to win comfortably we will need someone to play like a hero I predict

I guess another option would be, if Pep is really concerned about the game being determined by a midfield battle, is to play Alaba next to Kroos and Lahm; Contento would play as LB and Ribery would have to help a lot more defensively. I seriously doubt this would happen but it's another option for the purpose of having a stronger, better defense, midfield.

That won't happen as Contento is unlikely to recover in time from his injury. Alaba must definitely play as LB in such case. We're basically down to 5 options for the 4 defensive positions: Alaba, Dante, Boateng, Rafinha and Lahm. Given the problems in central midfield and Lahm's role as of late, it's quite a no-brainer that Pep will be playing Lahm in midfield.

Looks like Rooney is out for us now. Been an absolute disaster from start to finish this season, will be glad to see the back of it.
