Mueller didn't have that bad a game on Tue. He was doing his job brilliantly, drifting along the forward line.
He was drawing out defenders for others to move in. Thing is there were just too many bodies and nobody dared to take a shot or a risky through pass. We were just playing it safe by passing it around. Ribery of all people hardly tried to dribble into the box. He too got involved in the passing game. And then came crosses. Mueller being a drifter wasn't there always.

As you said, he should start on Tue. As many believe it wasn't a failed experiment. He needed support from midfield which he hardly got.
I'd rather put the blame on the CMs than Mueller. And seeing our dire crossing situation it was better to bring the target man Mandzu.

However, Mueller should have scored a goal in the first half. He faked it and let the ball through, only to find it that our player(it was Alaba or someone, I can't remember) was a bit late for it. I still think Mueller should have tried it with his left foot. #-o

I'm not a fan of Mueller as lone striker. I'm hard pressed to think of a single match in which he played as lone striker and performed well. He belongs to the wing or as #10, where he can make use of his skill of doing the unexpected, surprise entrance and score. If he's already striker his position can't be a surprise.

Good one. But don't you think he plays better in other positions?

Of course he does, but I believe for this game he would be very helpful as the lone striker.

This is my preferred formation and one that I totally do not expect to see, and I'm serious about it:

Spoiler: show

PS: No, that's not a mistake in defensive midfield.

Though in the first leg ManU has parked the bus and hoped for the best (which clearly Welbeck has destroyed that hope), I think the second leg at our home will be much more favorable as United will not be able to park the bus with ten defenders in and around the box when they are a goal behind. Any kind of draw will be poor for Bayern and I am really worried heading in to the next game :(

Why not?

Here are the options if they park the bus:

1.) We score a goal or two and end up winning 2-1 or 3-1 on aggregate, nothing shameful for United considering the state of both teams at the moment.
2.) The game ends 0-0, again, going out on away goals is nothing shameful for them.
3.) They score from a counterattack or a set piece and either win or a scoring draw, which might lead to penalties, which is a lottery.

If they don't park the bus:

1.) We'll score at least 2, minimum.

Moyes has nothing to lose by parking the bus, everyone expects him to do it and the worst outcome for him would be a loss, very likely not more than by one or two goals.

I believe that Moyes will employ the very same tactics from the 1st leg, as Pep will also do... I have a big feeling that it is going to be a similar match.

I also think it's gonna be more or less the same game, but we'll probably be more clinical with our finishing and also they will mostly defend worse than they did because the game will be played in our home

But with Schweini and Martinez missing for this game I'm a little bit worried about two things

1- Our midfield lacks strength
2- We are more vulnerable in set pieces

We'll mostly have Ribery, Robben, Rafinha, Lahm, Kroos, Alaba... while they have a lot of tall players and they are great in set pieces. In fact Evra is not very tall but he is very good at headers, so I think it's very important that our team stay focused in set pieces.

@kod2600: from which page did you get that image? I see it is one whole image. Those were actually two separate picture which I posted in the fun thread and it was MUTU who merged them into one. :)
