I think if van Buyten comes on for Boateng/Badstuber, the difference wouldn't be as big as you think it would. However, it is obvious that our attack has lost some firepower. Gomez may not be on form, but last season he used to get better deliveries, both in quantity and quality.

Maybe. At least I hope so.

There is no doubt that more players deserve credit than just Boateng, Rafinha, and Neuer. Badstuber is clearly playing much better and forming a good partnership with Boateng. Our defense can also finally rely more on the CM duo. Last season opponents got past our midfield to our defense too easily, and our defense was even easier to beat. This season, it's not easy to beat the Gustavo-Schweini wall, not easy to beat the Boateng-Badstuber wall, and even if you do, you still have to deal with Neuer, whose best attribute is probably 1v1s.

Did you guys notice that when Muller came on Robben/Ribery Muller were so freely switching positions and thats what made us more potent in attack. I saw Robbery next to each other multiple times and Muller on the wings both right and left multiple times as well.

These 3 have to start from the begining, Muller simply can not be benched! did you see his almost assist pass to Gomez with 2 defenders around him and Gomez was unlucky to not finish that. :x

Goal.com rated Gomez as N/A. It's the first time I saw a player who played 90 minutes get that

Hehehe. I also think that their rating of 5.5 for Kroos is a bit too unfair.

Good win and great display in the second half for our team. Everyone except Kroos and mostly Gomez were great. Lahm as top LB again is really enjoyable to watch. Ribery was also great and I am happy that Robben is finding his form again and becoming a match changer like he is used to be.

As for Gomez, after 4 official games (playing for full 90 min in almost all of them), I think it's time to be benched. I have the feeling that after Klose's departure and his great last year, he somehow lost the willingness to prove himself. I think it's time to see Olic or Muller there.

And most of all, I hope that Muller won't be benched again for Kroos. Our team looked a lot better when Muller came.

The season just started and all players still have time to prove they need to be in first XI...i think that Jupp will give some minutes to Olić, Usami, Alaba, Muller etc...and who makes something out of it will be potential starter.

Don't really get it what is the idea of keeping starting Kroos who practically did nothing in 3 matches ?!
Moreover at expense of benching our great Muller ?! #-o
Any explanation guys ?

Kroos is Heynckes's baby the same way Pranjic was for LvG

Concerning Gomez, i must disaggree with you guys...

I have the feeling that he has the "hard" work to do: which is to "attract" defenders on him, and thus frees up space for his teammates.
At some points he was really unlucky (like when he rounded the keeper and the swiss defender saved the shot on the line)...
At others the pass could have been better, like on Robben's goal, which wa initiated by a nice counter-attack, and a nice Gomez run, only for having Ribery's pass a bit too long, which made him get "wide"... thus giving the ball back to his teammate Robben on the right corner of the box, and opening him the path to curve the ball from the left to far post...
Of course, he needs more confidence and needs adjustments... But personally i don't really doubt him (even if sometimes he makes me rip my hair lol)... The only thing i may complain on him is sometimes he gets too "easy"...

I think he is important for our squad, as he is the "finisher" type of striker...

Concerning Kroos, i think his position more central in midfield or behind 2 strikers is the best he can get... But working as a CAM behind 1 striker (thus nearly being the 2nd striker) may get too much defensive pressure on him... Just think about the Germany-Brazil game: He partnered Shweinsteiger in Central Midfiel position, behind Götze and Gomez/Klose, and between the wings... And we noticed his vision, short passes and long passes quality...

Put him in midfield with Schweini to rotate with Luiz Gustavo, and you'll see what i mean...

That might be true, but he won't be attracting defenders for long once they realise that he can't score even when there is no defense

A slight improvement but there are still worries:
Defence
I am still worried about the defence. I am pleased of the clean sheet so far but i don't believe the opponents really have done to much to test the opponents.
1. Braunschweig- not really done anything
2.gladbach- odd moments,
3. Wolfsburg- first half they did a bit but second half they didn't really bother
4. Zurich- they ain't good

I think Bayern defence has improved from relegation standard to mid table but I am not sure yet it's able to compete with the best

Attack.
There were enough chances created but it still was a bit slow in my opinion so against well organised defence, Bayern will struggle if it continues like that.

Another problem:
Robben. He was good.but he stated in an interview that he was still feeling the pain. I just don't understand how heynckes can play him, knowing his injury record.

Well, my thoughts....

Badstuber is having a very solid beginning to the year. It may have a lot to do with partnering a solid CB in Boateng. And coaching.

Gomez is starting off very poorly this season. When Olic is back to 100% fitness (don't believe he is yet) he should be starting. What I see is that Gomez is starting to press when in front of goal. Too many touches, rather than a first touch strike. AND passing when he should be shooting and vice versa. He is looking like the Gomez from two years ago..... not a good thing....

TOO MANY BALL HOGS!!! on this Bayern team! TOO many times, they are trying to do things on their own. There are some stubborn players on this team. If they just played more as a team, it would go a long way! There are good passers on this team! I hope this doesn't become a trend! Look at other great European teams with star players, they share the ball and pass !!!!! Aren't Bayern supposed to be one of those great teams??????

The biggest problem has to be finishing -- if you look at replays we coulda shoulda had like 5 goals -- some were unlucky though like Ribéry hitting the post where the keeper didn't even move that would have been a great goal. Lahm had a couple of opportunities and maybe Heynckes ought to have him working on shooting. Anyway, at least we went out in the second half and attacked, but we still weren't playing like is expected at Bayern -- at least wins are being kranked out.
