11.23 million viewers saw the game on public TV in Germany. That's 36.4 percent of the entire TV audience.

As a Porto fan, i can honestly say that yesterday was one of the worst nights of my life but it didn't stop me from being extremely proud of Porto. We all knew before that you were the big favorites for this UCL Quarter-finals. You're obviously better than us and there is no shame in acknowledging that.

Yesterday, you were the better team on the pitch, by a clear mile, and your clearly deserved that 6-1 result. Apart from Jackson, our two biggest players are Danilo and Alex Sandro, absent from yesterday's match. As I said in another football forum, these two players are the "lungs of the team" and this match would be funny to know if we could breathe without them. We couldn't. Your high pressure was too much for us to handle and the outcome was the expected after watching the first 15/20 minutes. Our team, inexplicably, got into the field like the game was already lost, too nervous and too scared, which isn't understandble since we won last week 3-1 and we had nothing to lose, specially when we all knew that you had the best players.

We were clearly better than you last week, you were clearly better than us yesterday. The problem is that the difference between the two teams yesterday was clearly bigger than the difference we saw last week. You deserve it.

As a Porto fan, i'm more sad than frustrated. Sad because a team that comes from Portugal doesn't have the same chance of winning the UCL as you guys. This was a one in a million opportunity. We put our hearts out, we cried, we laughed and above all, we supported our team despite what could happen. I don't know if you knew this, but after the game, at 3 a.m. in Porto, hundreds of people went to the airport to support our team. Because we are true fans, as you are, and we support our team no matter what. As we usually say (our motto):

SÓ ÉS DERROTADO QUANDO DESISTES DE LUTAR - "You only lose when you give up fighting"
QUEM TE AMA NÃO TE ABANDONA - "Who loves you doesn't give up on you"

Congrats, the best team went through. Hope to see you win that damn trophy!

Always FC Porto, whatever it may take, and whatever happens. And your motto, "Mia San Mia", it also fits us. Mia San Mia! Somos quem somos! :D

Its a pity that only 1 Portuguese player was on the pitch
Statistics are like miniskirts . What they reveal is tantalizing, but what they hide is crucial.

I know, but it's a normal thing. We, Portuguese Clubs, can't hold players like Cristiano, Moutinho, Nani, Coentrão, Tiago, Danny, André Gomes and so on because we don't have enough money to compete with those that have millions and millions. Even if they're not top players and just a very good footballer, there's always freaking Zenit, Monaco, etc. that can seduce them to play in less known leagues.

We have to abdicate portuguese players and make a strong bet on players from Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and other South American countries where the Europe's top teams do not scout. Clubs like Porto and Benfica are like a ferry boat that brings players to Europe so they can later play on the best leagues. This is the way that Portuguese clubs survive. Buying less known players from South America and hope they can live up to the requirements of European football, and still be competitive in Europe. (In different ways since Porto usually goes through the UCL group stage and Benfica cannot do that).

Like I said before in another post, if Porto didn't have to sell players, this could be our team at the moment, easily good enough to compete with Bayern, Real Madrid, Barcelona, etc.:

GK: Helton
RB: Danilo
CB: Pepe
CB: Otamendi
LB: Alex Sandro
CM: Fernando
CM: Moutinho
CAM: James Rodriguez
ST: Hulk
ST: Falcão
ST: Jackson

Other players: Fabiano (we didn't have many GK's lately), Ricardo Carvalho, Mangala, Herrera, Quaresma, Brahimi, Tello, Casemiro, Oliver, Guarin, etc.

I think that some of you will agree. This team would be perfectly capable of being at the semifinals at the moment. That's just the way that football is ran these days: too much money coming from Asian and African big bosses.

One of the first things I did this morning was to check what Porto did...I found out that they played a 0-0 vs their bitter rivals benfica. 4 games to go and benfica are 3 up ... still an open race
