As I always write, defenders will never beat on speed a good winger, any team have defenders most faster than a good attacking player, it is about being well positioning for mark them properly, if defenders need speed is because they are caught out of position. Why Bernat need speed yesterday?, because Gotze was lost on the pitch again and we depend in Bernat on the left side for attack, so create holes that counter us.

Bayern should take advantage of their fullback absence by using Muller and Ribery (or Gotze if Rib is not fit) for attack them trough the wings, Thiago will be at the center for given Bayern variation on attack.

And they should play more from both side for give Bernat and Rafinha less role in attacking, just support the wingers for the attack, but almost still on the midfield or back for avoid the counter of their faster wingers.

But we will have trouble in all the match if we still depending on offense with Bernat and Rafinha, because Muller and Gotze are lost, so to beat them, our attackers must over perform too and do not charge everything from the wingers to Bernat and Rafinha.
Super-Bayern! Super-Bayern! Hey! Hey!

I am already seeing Porto players fainting heart attacks in order to waste time as much as possible.
Hopefully uefa will send a north european ref this time...

Yeah I don't look forward to this. Not that I blame the ref for yesterday, but I think referees from countries with teams still in the competition shouldn't be allowed to be in charge of CL matches.

Finally over the depression of the last game. Everything to be said about that game has been said. All I can add about the upcoming games is that no matter what happened in the last game, the tie isn't over yet. I don't need the team to progress for my sake, I'm just a fan. I hope some leadership is taking place right now from Guardiola and the senior players, that they come out heads high fighting for each other. At the bitter end the coach and the team must honestly say they gave everything.

The senior guys at my job always say that we can have just a horrible day at work, everything can go freaking wrong. As long as we come back to work with that out of our heads the next day ready to go. Don't even have to knock the next day out of the park just don't put your head down and give everything. Probably everyone on the team is professional enough to know this already, but who knows, can't hurt.

For some reason, the situation here feels, (for me at least) almost identical to what happened last year with the Real Madrid ties...almost same time as last year too

At the end of the first leg away loss, everyone, including management, players and fans was on fire and hugely optimistic for the return leg at home and that we'll be able to overturn the score...I'm not gonna go into it with more detail...

The reason for my post is not to be pessimistic, but rather, realistic...

In saying that, Porto are not Real Madrid and I HOPE TO GOD that Pep has already learnt his mistakes from that home game at the Allianz last year...then again, multiple significant injuries this time around and 1-0 is not 3-1

I am hopeful as much as any Bayern fan can be, but I've also kinda made peace with the fact that this won't be a Treble year

I really, really, really want to be proven wrong...

Jonas Eriksson would be a good choice. What I've seen he's done a good job.

Same here. Despite all the drama I'm feeling optimistic (after a short panicking moment...).

I was confident until the HWMW news. I think that was the last nail in the coffin. The players' morale must be quite down. I'm usually very optimistic, but now I expect Bayern to get eliminated.

Same here. Worst timing possible. It will take a miracle to make the semis.

Everything is possible for the that match. The only thing is needed, change of mentality. Possession play has to be put away for that game, it does not work with Porto. If you have high percentage of possession and losing game 3:1 it means you’re not trying hard enough to create goal opportunities, in goal scoring opportunities you often lose possession or you score, that’s life. If you lose it you try to regain ball as fast as possible and that’s all. Going down 3:1 and still trying to pass ball around the box is silly and you see all the time Muller or Lewa trying to go into proper position but never get the ball – too risky for that system. Just watch Bernat – he will go deep into the left side and dribble or whatever but he will never send the ball to the box from positions around box corner, just pass sideways or backwards. Just tiring to watch and he gets always high notes for his performances.

almost impossible with the current squad. dont expect them to magically play better just because they're home, remember last years semis with Real? we played even worse at home. we're lucky if we get a draw.

Let's hope the players don't share your attitude.
