The best it can get is probably a red card and a penalty in the first moments of the game. Then we might have a chance.

This is the starting formation i'd prefer for tonights clash.

Though us advancing to the final seems close to impossible, winning this match is crucial, to somewhat was off the embarrassing results lately. Besides injuries, why do you guys reckon we're seeing such a drop in performance at this late stage in the campaign. Same thing happened last year. We can't solely blame Pep, and the argument that his tactics are useless against proper opponents, doesn't cover it either. We also get shit results against lesser opponents that we would have no problems against earlier in the campaign.

And we also signed a new player. He's making his debut tonight. His surname is Lham.

I don't think the 4-2-3-1 would work since Goetze isn't a LW. I think we'd need to have a 2 striker system with Goetze playing centrally behind them. If only we had Ribery or Alaba

Tonight, he will be a LW. I'm quite sure of this. Only other option would be Weiser starting at RW and Mueller as LW.

I don't know why, but I'm feeling strangely optimistic for today's game... maybe because the expectations are zero? How sweet would it be to win today by enough goals to go to Berlin.... [-o<

Glad you are optimistic! I don't know how many more times the team can pull a trick out of the hat at home... I am really miffed we had to make it to the semifinals with enough injured key players to practically form a new squad  . I will believe in the team and cross my fingers until the end though.

I fear that Bayern are a spent force at this stage in the season - too many injuries and not-back-to-form players to beat an in-form Barcelona by the margin that is needed to progress. An honorable 2-1 or 1-0 win would be very acceptable at this stage. After that, there's a lot of refocusing needed on the squad for next season.

It will be nice to score one or two. Play the wings and jump over them like the team that manhandled them in 2013. Other than that, and the mandatory last game of the season beer, I'm not really expecting much. Season died when Neymar out maneuvered Neuer. He could have been a perfect Ribéry replacement. Now we are left wondering if 'no southamericans' really works, who will be the overpaid and under talented winger transfer and if Veratti is real or just a figment of someone's sick imagination. Cheers everyone, see Ya after the break.

Would explain some things

Everybody got carried away with the Porto result and overlooked the fact that the goalkeeper should have saved three or four of those six goals. It will be plain sailing for Barcelona in Tuesday’s second leg, and Bayern Munich can start planning ahead.- Dietmar Hamann [source]

God please, no Alonso. His legs were gone after 60 minutes at the Camp Nou. He is classy on the ball, knows how to win a tackle or two, but he could barely move in the latter stages of the game. I'd love for Javi to be back, but even if he was in shape, Pep would never play him in his CM position. He'd help a lot against their front 3. And Lahm at RB would be awesome to. But no chance for that either.

I made my peace with it last week, I just hope we don't get embarrased again. That would truly piss me off.

Alonso was rested at the weekend. I'm sure Pep will start him. With the formation I'm proposing, when he's tired there'd be Schweinsteiger, Martinez and Rode as options to come off the bench and replace him.
