Rudy + Thiago is a bid soft against a team such as Celtic, but I guess that we will try to control the game so it is not a bad partnership either

I agree, we need Vidal against the Scots.

Haven't seen much from Celtic lately... but I'm not too worried and Rudy+Thiago should be enough considering that it is a home game

It's not just about the CM's. Now that we have a proper coach there will be less gaps and the team will be compact again. I want to see the same kind of performance from last saturday with some little improvements and moving the ball faster

Finally getting round to posting after lurking on the forum for a while, so firstly: Hello from Perth, Scotland! :D

Back on topic, and quotes from the Celtic camp in the media back here are playing down their chances. Attitude appears to be that if they'd played us whilst Ancelloti was still manager there might have been a slim chance but not with Jupp back in charge.

Glasgow Herald is saying that Celtic are struggling defensively as their two main centre halves (Boyata and Simunovic) are both out injured, they've also been struggling for form of late with a home draw with Hibs and a narrow 1-0 win over Dundee in their last two league games meaning they only top the Scottish Premiership on goal difference from Aberdeen (and given that's my other team - can't say I'm unhappy with that! :P )

Herald is playing down their chances so much that their chief sportswriter Matthew Lindsay has written an article with the headline "Even a full-strength Celtic side would toil against superstars of "FC Hollywood" in Munich". Not too keen on dragging out the old FC Hollywood nickname (which I hate) but other than that hope he's correct!

I don't know if he was registered for the Champions League but if he was it'd be unlikely he'd be on the bench again less than 24 hours after he stopped playing for the reserves. On the other hand, Fruechtl was not in the matchday squad. Perhaps he's convinced Heynckes enough to sit on the bench for the match against Celtic, something he hasn't done since Ancelotti was head coach.

Früchtl is currently playing for the U19s in the UEFA Youth League. Therefore Ulreich and Starke are confirmed for this evening.

In fact this was always Heynckes' main superior point over all of our other recent coaches.

Lineup for tonight's match:

Ulreich

Kimmich - Hummels - Boateng - Alaba

Rudy - Thiago

Robben - Müller - Coman

Lewandowski

Source: FC Bayern Android App.

Happy to see Hummels and Boateng in defence tonight and good looking midfield, just wish we had Vidal's grit in the DM's against Scott Brown but sure Rudy and Thiago will be more than enough! :D

I expect that we'll see James come off the bench today and(hopefully) Rafinha(we should rest Kimmich for the big games coming up).
